The Astros placed Diaz (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

A left oblique strain caused Diaz to be scratched from the lineup ahead of Monday's contest and will now also prevent him from playing for another 10 days. Christian Vazquez will presumably take over as the Astros' primary catcher while Diaz is on the shelf, and Nick Allen (back) will come off the injured list to claim the open roster spot.

Anthony was diagnosed with a sprained right wrist after undergoing an MRI on Tuesday and may not require a trip to the injured list, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The 21-year-old was removed from Monday's game in Detroit due to the injury and returned to Boston on Tuesday to visit a hand specialist, who apparently provided an encouraging diagnosis. Anthony is no longer with the team in Detroit, so the soonest he could rejoin the lineup would be Thursday, when the Red Sox return home for the start of a four-game series with the Rays.

The Astros recalled Dezenzo (elbow) from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Julia Morales of Space City Home Network reports.

Dezenzo is returning from a right elbow sprain he suffered while playing in the World Baseball Classic for Team Italy. He was activated off the 10-day injured list Monday but was promptly optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land. The outfielder is not in the lineup versus the Dodgers on Tuesday, so he may have to wait to see his first MLB action of the season. In a corresponding move, Dustin Harris was designated for assignment.

The Astros designated Harris for assignment Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Harris appeared in 11 games after joining the Astros in mid-April, during which he went 7-for-31 (.226) at the plate with four RBI, four runs and two steals. He'll lose his place on the active roster to make room for Zach Dezenzo, who was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move.

The Astros optioned Weiss to Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Weiss was lit up for seven runs (six earned) over 4.1 innings during Monday's loss to the Dodgers, inflating his ERA to 7.62 to go with a 2.12 WHIP through 26 innings on the year. He'll now head back to the minors to try to right the ship, and Jason Alexander will come up from Triple-A to round out Houston's bullpen.

The Astros recalled Alexander from Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Julia Morales of Space City Home Network reports.

Alexander is returning to Houston after departing for Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday. The move comes after Ryan Weiss was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday night.

Raleigh (side) will start at designated hitter and bat second in Tuesday's contest versus Atlanta.

Raleigh missed each of the previous three games while dealing with tightness in his right side. He had been set to undergo an MRI, and while the Mariners have not divulged the results of the imaging, Raleigh's presence in Tuesday's lineup suggests he received good news.

The Rangers recalled Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Foscue has gotten off to a strong start at Round Rock this season, slashing .287/.407/.426 with a pair of home runs and a 22:22 BB:K over 30 contests. The 27-year-old is just 3-for-51 at the plate during his limited big-league opportunities, but he could see a bit of action at second base while Josh Smith (glute) is sidelined.

The Rangers placed Smith on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right glute strain.

It's unclear when Smith was injured, as he played all nine innings of the Rangers' last game Sunday against the Tigers. He will be eligible for activation May 15, though the club did not reveal a timetable for Smith's return to action. Ezequiel Duran will serve as the Rangers' primary second baseman while Smith is shelved.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Cole (elbow), who is making a rehab start Tuesday with High-A Hudson Valley, is still a "little ways away" from making his season debut with the Yankees, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander's rehab outing Tuesday is the fourth of his rehab assignment as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last March. New York's rotation has been dominant early this season, so the club may let Cole take his time building back up in the minors.
