Skubal (elbow) will make a rehab start with High-A West Michigan on Sunday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

It will be Skubal's first rehab start since undergoing surgery to have bone chips removed from his left elbow in early May. He's been throwing bullpens and simulated games with the Tigers in recent weeks, but the lefty will now head out on a rehab assignment to get some game action. As long as all goes smoothly, Skubal looks poised to rejoin the Tigers' rotation perhaps as early as next week.

McKinstry is starting in center field and batting eighth Friday against the Mariners.

It will be McKinstry's first action in center field since the 2023 season. The utility man has played second base, third base, shortstop and right field this season, and his positional versatility keeps him on the lineup card more often that not. McKinstry is in the midst of a 1-for-26 skid at the plate, however, and is slashing just .158/.246/.211 with one homer, nine RBI, two runs scored, one stolen base and a 14:23 BB:K across 132 plate appearances this season.

Jansen (pelvis) is throwing a bullpen session ahead of Friday's game against the Mariners, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Jansen was sent to the 15-day injured list May 28 with pelvic inflammation. The 38-year-old has struggled to a career-worst 4.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB across 15 innings this season. If he's able to work without setbacks during bullpens and live BP sessions, Jansen could potentially avoid a rehab assignment.

The Yankees recalled Jones from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Jones takes the 26-man roster spot vacated by Aaron Judge (ribs) after he was placed on the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. Jones got his first taste of the big leagues last month but slashed .167/.259/.167 with zero extra-base hits, two RBI, one stolen base and a 3:12 BB:K across 27 trips to the plate before being sent back down. He'll need to cut down on that 44.4 percent strikeout rate in a big way, but Jones should see regular at-bats against right-handed pitching at least until Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) and Giancarlo Stanton (calf) are back from the injured list.

The Yankees placed Judge (ribs) on the 10-day injured list Friday.

Judge was diagnosed with a stress fracture in the first rib on his right side Thursday and will be shut down for 4-6 weeks before being reevaluated. He's looking at an extended absence and could be out until after the All-Star break. In a corresponding move Friday, the Yankees recalled Spencer Jones from Triple-A, and the rookie should see regular playing time against right-handed pitching while Giancarlo Stanton (calf) and Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) remain on the injured list.

Headrick (4-1) recorded the win over Cleveland on Thursday, walking one batter and striking out one over a scoreless inning.

Carlos Rodon delivered six innings of one-run ball, but he left with the game tied. Headrick worked around a two-out walk to pitch a scoreless top of the seventh, and he moved into position for the victory when the Yankees plated a run in the bottom of the inning. The southpaw has held the opponent scoreless in seven straight appearances while posting an 8:3 K:BB over 6.1 frames during that span. He's been a key part of the bullpen with a 1.82 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, four wins, seven holds and a 34:12 K:BB through 29.2 innings spanning 30 appearances on the campaign.

Cruz earned a hold against Cleveland on Thursday with a perfect inning of work.

Cruz was summoned in the eighth inning to protect a one-run lead and retired the side in order on 10 pitches. The right-hander is in the midst of a 19-outing stretch during which he's given up just two earned runs while posting a 20:7 K:BB over 18.2 innings. He leads the Yankees with 11 holds on the campaign while registering a 2.00 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 33:14 K:BB through 27 frames.

Massey went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 8-6 win over the Twins.

Massey got in on the offensive action with a single in the second inning before going yard to open the fourth frame. It marked his third homer over the past five games, during which the second baseman has hit safely and driven in at least one run in each contest. Across 47 contests in 2026, Massey is slashing .266/.287/.477 with six homers, nine doubles, 20 RBI, 16 runs and a stolen base.

Soderstrom went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-6 loss against the Cubs.

Soderstrom went the opposite way off southpaw Shota Imanaga to open the seventh inning and extend the Athletics' lead, though the club would ultimately relinquish it. Soderstrom's hitting streak is now up to 10 games, during which he is batting .417 with three homers, three doubles, six RBI and five runs. The hot stretch has significantly boosted the left fielder's numbers on the season, raising his OPS from .655 to .750 across 59 contests.

Pereira (pectoral) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Pereira hasn't played since April 28 due to a strained right pectoral, but he recently began throwing again and is now cleared for game action. The 25-year-old slashed .250/.310/.453 with three homers, seven RBI, seven runs scored, one stolen base and a 4:21 BB:K across his first 71 pate appearances this season.
