  • Orioles' Heston Kjerstad: Placed on concussion IL

The Orioles placed Kjerstad on the 7-day concussion injured list Saturday.

Kjerstad was scratched from Saturday's lineup after participating in pregame drills, and he'll now land on the 7-day IL as a result of getting hit in the head by a pitch Friday. Kyle Stowers was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to replenish Baltimore's outfield depth.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Remains sidelined Saturday

Miranda (back) isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game versus San Francisco.

Miranda was scratched from Minnesota's lineup ahead of Friday's contest due to back stiffness, and he'll need at least another day to recover before returning to the starting nine. In his absence, Matt Wallner will serve as the Twins' DH and bat fifth.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Sitting down Saturday

Buxton isn't in the Twins' lineup Saturday versus the Giants.

Buxton has been scorching hot at the plate lately, slashing .452/.500/.742 with four RBI and nine runs scored during his eight-game hitting streak. He'll get a chance to rest Saturday as Manuel Margot gets the nod in center field.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

    Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Idle Saturday

Jeffers isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Jeffers has gone 8-for-19 with a homer and five RBI over his last five games, but he'll sit down Saturday as he continues to split time behind the plate evenly with Christian Vazquez.

  • Orioles' Heston Kjerstad: Scratched Saturday

Kjerstad (head) was scratched from Baltimore's lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Yankees.

Kjerstad was originally slated to return to left field just a day after getting hit in the head by a pitch Friday, but he wasn't feeling 100 percent during pregame drills, per Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, and he'll now sit out as a precaution. Austin Hays will cover left field instead and bat eighth.

  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

    Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Resting Saturday

Rocchio isn't in the Guardians' lineup for Saturday's game versus Tampa Bay.

Rocchio will sit for the second game in a row Saturday coming off an 0-for-9 stretch during Cleveland's four-game series in Detroit. Daniel Schneemann will fill in at shortstop, allowing Angel Martinez to start in center field while batting second.

  • Danny Coulombe RP | BOS

Orioles' Danny Coulombe: Moved to 60-day IL

The Orioles transferred Coulombe (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Coulombe hasn't been ruled out for the season after undergoing left elbow surgery in June, but he'll give up his spot on the 40-man roster for the time being in order to make room for Vinny Nittoli.

  • Cade Povich SP | BAL

Orioles' Cade Povich: Demoted to Triple-A

The Orioles optioned Povich to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Povich allowed three earned runs in 5.1 innings during his latest start Friday and was saddled with his third loss in his last four outings. He now owns a 6.27 ERA through his first seven career MLB starts, so he'll head back to the minor leagues in order to right the ship. It's unclear who will fill the open spot in Baltimore's rotation, but for now the team will opt for bullpen depth in right-hander Vinny Nittoli.

  • Vinny Nittoli RP | BOS

Orioles' Vinny Nittoli: Selected from Triple-A

The Orioles selected Nittoli's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Nittoli signed a minor-league deal with the O's on July 2 and has since given up one run in three innings in Triple-A. He'll now provide additional depth to Baltimore's bullpen, replacing Cade Povich on the team's pitching staff. Danny Coulombe (elbow) was moved to the 60-day IL in order to free up a spot on the 40-man roster.

  • Dane Dunning SP | SEA

Rangers' Dane Dunning: Beginning assignment Sunday

Dunning (shoulder) will pitch in a rehab game at Double-A Frisco on Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

It's unclear whether Dunning will need to pitch in any more games before returning from the injured list, but he is still seemingly on pace to return to the Rangers' bullpen immediately after or shortly after the All-Star break.
