  • Collin Snider RP | CHC

Mariners' Collin Snider: Records first win Saturday

Snider (1-1) got the win against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing two hits and recording a strikeout over a scoreless inning.

Snider got an early fifth-inning call after starter Bryan Woo exited following 70 pitches due to hamstring tightness. Snider navigated some trouble in his one frame, wiggling out of a jam by retiring Andrew Vaughn and Andrew Benintendi with men on second and third. The 28-year-old right-hander now has scoreless efforts in five of the last six appearances, and he's whittled his ERA back down to an elite 1.59 across 17 innings.

  • Drew Waters CF | KC

Royals' Drew Waters: Optioned to Omaha

The Royals optioned Waters to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.

The move is to make room on the 26-man roster for MJ Melendez (ankle), who was reinstated off the 10-day injured list. Waters made four appearances for the Royals after being recalled July 18, going 2-for-8 with one RBI, two runs scored and two walks. In Triple-A this season, Waters is slashing .277/.362/.502 with 10 home runs, 44 RBI and 11 stolen bases across 287 plate appearances.

  • MJ Melendez DH | NYM

Royals' MJ Melendez: Reinstated from IL

The Royals reinstated Melendez (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Melendez landed on the injured list July 16 after spraining his left ankle two days earlier against the Red Sox. He didn't need an extended stay on the IL, and he made three rehab outings with Double-A Northwest Arkansas, going 1-for-9 with one home run, two RBI and three runs scored. Prior to his injury, Melendez was slashing .303/.343/.667 with three home runs and five RBI over 34 plate appearances in July. He will start in left field and bat sixth in Sunday's series finale against the Cubs.

  • Mariners' Randy Arozarena: Reaches twice in team debut

Arozarena started in left field during his Mariners debut Saturday against the White Sox, going 1-for-4 with a walk and a run in Seattle's 6-3 win.

The big-name trade acquisition slotted into the No. 2 spot in the order and crossed the plate with his first run in a Mariners uniform on Jorge Polanco's eighth-inning single. Seattle is looking to Arozarena for an infusion of badly needed offense, and he arrived in the Emerald City in the midst of one of his better stretches at the plate in what has been a disappointing season. The 29-year-old forged a .375 average and 1.358 OPS with six extra-base hits over his last seven games with the Rays, and Saturday's team debut encouragingly maintained some of that momentum.

  • Joey Cantillo SP | CLE

Guardians' Joey Cantillo: Called up for MLB debut

The Guardians called up Cantillo from Triple-A Columbus to start Sunday's game against the Phillies, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

The 24-year-old missed the start of the Triple-A season due to a hamstring strain, but he's been effective since coming off the injured list in early June with a 2.79 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 39:19 K:BB over 29 innings. If he delivers a strong debut, Cantillo could receive multiple turns through the rotation for Cleveland.

  • Homer Bush CF | TB

Rays' Homer Bush: Traded to Tampa Bay

The Rays acquired Bush, right-hander Dylan Lesko and catcher J.D. Gonzalez from the Padres on Sunday in exchange for reliever Jason Adam, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

The 128th overall pick by the Padres in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Bush will now make his way to a new organization. The 22-year-old outfielder has played at the High-A level this season and has a .269 average with 16 home runs, nine steals, a 9.4 percent walk rate and 17.6 percent strikeout rate though 85 games. However, he's slugging just .341 despite the long balls since he has only nine doubles and no triples.

  • Trevor Larnach LF | MIN

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Sitting again Sunday

Larnach is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Larnach will sit Sunday for the second straight game. Matt Wallner will start in left field and bat third.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Three-run shot in win

Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's win over the Angels.

Langeliers jumped on the first pitch he saw from Tyler Anderson in the opening frame and launched it over the wall in center field, scoring Brent Rooker and Lawrence Butler to give Oakland a 3-0 lead. That would end up being the difference in the ballgame as both offenses struggled to get much of anything going throughout the contest. Langeliers has now hit safely in four straight games, racking up two homers, two doubles, four RBI and four runs over that stretch. For the month, he's batting .254 with five long balls, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.

  • Brian Serven C | ATH

Blue Jays' Brian Serven: Recalled by Toronto

The Blue Jays recalled Serven from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.

With Danny Jansen traded to the Red Sox on Saturday, Serven will serve as the backup catcher behind Alejandro Kirk. Serven has played in eight major-league games this season and has gone 1-for-11 with one walk, one run scored and four strikeouts. He is available for Sunday's series finale against the Rangers.

  • Dylan Lesko SP | TB

Rays' Dylan Lesko: Sent to Tampa Bay

The Rays acquired Lesko, outfielder Homer Bush and catcher J.D. Gonzalez from the Padres on Sunday in exchange for reliever Jason Adam, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Lesko was one of San Diego's top prospects, though he's struggled at the High-A level this season with a 6.82 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 73:49 K:BB across 64.2 innings. He's also plunked 11 batters and thrown seven wild pitches, as his control has been erratic in his second year back from Tommy John surgery.
