  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Sitting again Tuesday

Canzone isn't in the Mariners' lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Canzone will be missing his second consecutive start Tuesday, though he was able to appear as a pinch hitter in Monday's loss. Mitch Haniger will take over in right field and bat seventh while Canzone rests.

  • Justin Slaten RP | BOS

Red Sox's Justin Slaten: Set for rehab assignment

Slaten (elbow) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Slaten threw a bullpen session Monday, and he's now slated to take the final step in his recovery from right elbow inflammation. It's unclear where Slaten will report to for his rehab assignment, but he likely won't require an extensive stay before ultimately returning to the Red Sox bullpen.

  • Mitch Haniger RF | SEA

Mariners' Mitch Haniger: In Tuesday's lineup

Haniger (quad) will start in right field and bat seventh Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Haniger was forced to make an early exit from Saturday's game due to a quad injury, but he was available off the bench Monday and will now return to the starting nine Tuesday. The 33-year-old has begun to heat up lately, slashing .256/.293/.436 with two homers and eight RBI across 41 plate appearances since the start of August.

  • Dylan Carlson LF | CHC

Rays' Dylan Carlson: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Carlson is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Oakland, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Carlson went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts during Monday's contest and will sit for the second time in Tampa Bay's past three games. Josh Lowe, Jose Siri and Jonny DeLuca will start from left to right in the outfield Tuesday for the Rays.

  • Jose Caballero SS | NYY

Rays' Jose Caballero: Not starting Tuesday

Caballero is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Caballero has a .209/.265/.372 slash line through 15 games in August and will sit for Tuesday's contest. Taylor Walls will receive the start at shortstop versus Oakland righty Joey Estes.

  • Matt Wallner RF | MIN

Twins' Matt Wallner: Not starting against lefty

Wallner isn't in the Twins' lineup for Tuesday's game versus San Diego.

Wallner and his career .476 OPS against lefties will take a seat Tuesday as the Padres send southpaw Martin Perez to the mound. His absence will move Royce Lewis into the DH spot while Jose Miranda starts at third base.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Sitting against southpaw

Mullins is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Mullins will hit the bench for the second straight game since the Mets are sending out another left-handed starter (Jose Quintana) on Tuesday. Colton Cowser will shift to center field while Austin Slater receives a start in left.

  • Trevor Larnach LF | MIN

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Resting against southpaw

Larnach isn't in the Twins' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

With left-hander Martin Perez set to throw the first pitch for San Diego on Tuesday, the lefty-hitting Larnach will step out of the lineup. Manuel Margot will get the starting nod in left field instead and bat leadoff.

  • J.T. Ginn SP | ATH

Athletics' J.T. Ginn: Summoned from Triple-A

The Athletics selected Ginn's contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Since being moved up to Las Vegas from Double-A Midland on May 11, Ginn posted a 5.72 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 72.1 innings in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. Despite his lackluster performance, Ginn will move up to the big leagues and join Oakland's pitching staff as a replacement for lefty Scott Alexander (shoulder), who was moved to the injured list. The 25-year-old Ginn has worked almost exclusively as a starter throughout his career in the minors, though he'll likely be used as a long reliever while in the big leagues.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: On bench again Tuesday

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Jose Quintana is the second straight lefty to start for New York, so O'Hearn finds himself on the bench again Tuesday. Eloy Jimenez is batting fifth as the designated hitter as the two continue to platoon the position.
