Sean Burke SP | CHW
White Sox's Sean Burke: Start confirmed for Sunday
Burke is listed as the White Sox's probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game against the Athletics in Chicago.
He'll fill the vacant fifth spot in the White Sox rotation after Nick Nastrini was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte earlier this week. Burke was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move and made his MLB debut out of the bullpen Tuesday against Cleveland, striking out three while allowing an unearned run on three hits and one walk over three innings. He was a full-time starter for Charlotte prior to his promotion, pitching to a 4.62 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 86:36 K:BB in 64.1 innings.

Joey Cantillo SP | CLE
Guardians' Joey Cantillo: Drawing another start
Cantillo is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Rays in Cleveland.
After returning from Triple-A Columbus on Monday and striking out 10 over seven innings of one-run ball in a win over the White Sox, Cantillo has earned himself a second straight turn through the Cleveland rotation. The left-handed rookie should hold down a rotation spot until the Guardians get Alex Cobb (finger) back from the 15-day injured list.

Gerson Garabito SP | MIL
Rangers' Gerson Garabito: Shifts back to relief
Garabito has made his last two appearances out of the bullpen, giving up two earned runs on one hit and one walk while retiring two batters via strikeout in outings Tuesday in Arizona and Thursday in Seattle.
Since tossing 2.2 scoreless innings to lead off a bullpen game for the Rangers last Friday versus the Angels, Garabito has shifted back to a relief role. With Texas getting Jacob deGrom back from the 60-day injured list Friday and Max Scherzer (shoulder) due to return from the 15-day IL on Saturday, the Rangers aren't expected to have an opening in the rotation for Garabito for the remainder of the season.

Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Royals' Adam Frazier: Pops solo shot
Frazier went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-3 win over the Pirates.
Frazier has seen minimal playing time in September -- this was his first start of the month, and it came at third base. He hit a decent .267 over 21 games in August, but Frazier has seen the least usage of the Royals' options at second base and third base. Maikel Garcia, Paul DeJong and Michael Massey are all ahead of him at this stage of the season. Frazier has a .205/.281/.295 slash line with four homers, 20 RBI, 32 runs scored and two stolen bases over 272 plate appearances.

Kyle Isbel CF | KC
Royals' Kyle Isbel: Two extra-base hits in win
Isbel went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an RBI double and two total runs scored in Friday's 8-3 win over the Pirates.
Isbel contributed his RBI double during the Royals' six-run second inning, and he added a solo shot in the fourth. This was his second multi-hit effort in three games after he went 23 contests without one from Aug. 13 to Sept. 9. The outfielder has a .232/.282/.374 slash line with eight homers, 42 RBI, 57 runs scored and nine stolen bases over 123 games this season, serving primarily as a strong-side platoon option in center field.

Salvador Perez DH | KC
Royals' Salvador Perez: Goes yard in Friday's win
Perez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 8-3 win over the Pirates.
Perez provided a big knock with a homer in the second inning to cap a six-run rally. He's hit safely and driven in at least one run in five straight contests, posting two homers and eight RBI in that span. The catcher is up to 27 long balls, 103 RBI, 57 runs scored, 27 doubles and a .280/.342/.482 slash line through 145 games this season.
-
Nate Lowe 1B | CLE
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Three hits, two RBI in loss
Lowe went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.
Lowe has five multi-hit efforts over his last nine games, going 14-for-29 (.483) with eight RBI in that span. The first baseman provided a pair of RBI singles in Friday's contest, though it wasn't quite enough to fend off the Mariners' late comeback. Lowe is slashing .269/.365/.395 with 13 home runs, 58 RBI, 55 runs scored and two stolen bases over 126 contests this season.

Wyatt Langford LF | TEX
Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Goes deep Friday
Langford went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.
Langford stretched the Rangers' lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning. The outfielder has 11 homers this year, four of which he's hit over his last 15 games. In that span, he's batting .288 (17-for-59) with 14 RBI. He's posted a .251/.319/.391 slash line over 120 contests this season, but it looks like he's found more comfort at the plate late in the campaign.
-
Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Delivers scoreless line in return
DeGrom (elbow) allowed four hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 3.2 scoreless innings Friday while taking a no-decision in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.
In his first big-league outing since April 28, 2023 and after completing four minor-league rehab starts prior to being activated from the 60-day injured list, deGrom was limited to 61 pitches (41 strikes) in his return to the Texas rotation. Though he was generally sharp during his time on the mound, deGrom is likely to remain on a workload restriction for his next start, which is expected to come next week at home versus the Blue Jays.

Luke Raley RF | SEA
Mariners' Luke Raley: Swipes bag in win
Raley went 2-for-2 with a double and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 win over the Rangers. He was also hit by two pitches.
Raley got on base twice the hard way, but he appeared no worse for wear while playing the full game at first base. He's had a decent September, going 12-for-38 (.316) with eight extra-base hits, nine RBI and two steals over 11 contests. Raley is up to a .242/.321/.457 slash line with 19 home runs, 11 thefts, 52 RBI and 53 runs scored over 125 games this season. He's also tied for third in the majors in hit-by-pitches, having been plunked 18 times this year.
