  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Getting Tuesday off

Stanton isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Tuesday's game versus Seattle.

Stanton has tallied a hit in each of his last three games, but he'll step out of the starting nine Tuesday while Aaron Judge serves as New York's designated hitter and Alex Verdugo picks up a start in the outfield.

  • Jake Meyers CF | HOU

Astros' Jake Meyers: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Meyers is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in San Diego, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Meyers has been dealing with an ankle injury, but was still able to play Sunday and came off the bench Monday. Meyers is getting some more rest Tuesday with Mauricio Dubon patrolling center field and batting ninth.

  • Bryan Mata RP | BOS

Red Sox's Bryan Mata: Soreness halts rehab assignment

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Mata (elbow/lat) was pulled off his rehab assignment after experiencing soreness following his Sept. 10 appearance, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

The skipper added it's "pretty unlikely" that Mata will pitch for the Red Sox this season. The 25-year-old has been on the injured list all season, first due to a hamstring injury before shoulder, lat and elbow issues cropped up. Mata has embarked on four rehab assignments this season but has been unable to avoid setbacks and other injuries once cleared for game action.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: Back in action

Singleton (illness) is starting at first base and batting sixth Tuesday in San Diego, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

SIngleton missed Monday's game due to illness after he was a late scratch for Sunday's matchup with the Angels. With his return to the lineup, Victor Caratini is back on the bench.

  • Royals' James McArthur: Dealing with Grade 1 UCL sprain

McArthur, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, was diagnosed with a Grade 1 UCL sprain in his right elbow and will be shut down from throwing for 5-to-7 days, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The 27-year-old won't be able to return before the end of the regular season, but manager Matt Quatraro is hopeful a playoff return is possible. That's likely an optimistic outlook for a UCL injury, but for now, McArthur has yet to be fully ruled out for 2024.

  • Bryan Ramos 3B | BAL

White Sox's Bryan Ramos: On bench Tuesday

Ramos is not the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

Ramos has begun seeing regular playing time, having started in seven straight games since Sept. 9. In that span, he went 5-for-26 with two home runs and three walks. With the 22-year-old getting to rest Tuesday, Miguel Vargas has the start at third and is batting ninth.

  • Daulton Varsho CF | HOU

Blue Jays' Daulton Varsho: Headed for shoulder surgery

Varsho, who was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a shoulder strain Tuesday, will undergo surgery on his rotator cuff as soon as possible, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Varsho has been played through the injury for an undisclosed period and will miss the final couple weeks of the regular season. Assuming the 28-year-old is able to get the procedure relatively soon, he should have enough recovery time to be healthy for the start of spring training. Varsho had an underwhelming .214/.293/.407 slash line in 136 games this year, though he still provided some value for fantasy managers with 18 homers, 10 stolen bases, 58 RBI and 73 runs.

  • Victor Robles RF | SEA

Mariners' Victor Robles: Good to go Tuesday

Robles (undisclosed) is batting leadoff as the designated hitter Tuesday versus the Yankees.

The 27-year-old departed Sunday's matchup with the Rangers due to an unspecified injury, but he's back in the lineup following Monday's team off day. Robles has continued to carry a hot bat through the first half of September and has a .463/.549/.610 slash line with six doubles, eight steals, five RBI and 11 runs in 13 games.

  • Colton Cowser CF | BAL

Orioles' Colton Cowser: Sitting down versus lefty

Cowser isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

San Francisco will send southpaw Blake Snell to the mound for the start of Tuesday's contest, meaning the lefty-hitting Cowser will sit on the bench while Austin Slater fills the void in left field, batting leadoff.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Getting breather against LHP

Holliday isn't in the Orioles' lineup Tuesday against the Giants.

Left-hander Blake Snell will throw the Giants' first pitch Tuesday, meaning the left-handed-hitting Holliday will retreat to the bench to begin the game. Livan Soto will start at second base in his place and bat ninth.
