White Sox's Kyle Teel: Sitting against left-hander

Teel is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Guardians on Saturday.

With southpaw Parker Messick on the mound for the Guardians, the lefty-hitting Teel will be on the bench while Drew Romo starts behind home plate and bats ninth. Since being activated off the 60-day injured list June 22, Teel has gone 7-for-34 (.206) with one home run, eight RBI and a 38.5 percent strikeout rate.

  • Sam Antonacci LF | CHW

White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Idle vs. southpaw

Antonacci is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Guardians on Saturday.

Antonacci has faced his fair share of southpaws this season, but he will be on the bench to open Saturday's contest while Junior Perez starts in left field and bats fifth against Guardians left-hander Parker Messick. Since June 1, Antonacci has a .316 batting average with three steals, four home runs, 11 RBI and a 10:16 BB:K across 114 plate appearances.

  • Jose Cuas RP | KC

Royals' Jose Cuas: Back with big club

The Royals recalled Cuas from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.

The move comes after Stephen Kolek (personal) was placed on the family medical emergency list. Cuas' lone appearance with the Royals was Wednesday against the Rays, when he allowed one run on two hits while striking out three across two innings without issuing a walk. He's spent the majority of the 2026 season in Triple-A, where he has a 3.31 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 33:19 K:BB across 32.2 innings.

  • Royals' Stephen Kolek: Goes on family emergency list

The Royals placed Kolek (personal) on the Family Medical Emergency List on Saturday.

Kolek's next start is tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Mets, though it's unclear whether he'll be with the team at that time. He took the loss in his last start against the Rays on Thursday, when he allowed three runs on four hits and one walk across two innings without recording a strikeout. Prior to that outing, Kolek spent some time on the paternity list and then the family medical emergency list before rejoining the team Thursday. The Royals recalled right-hander Jose Cuas from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Not in Saturday's lineup

Perez (elbow) is not in the Royals' starting lineup against the Phillies on Saturday.

Perez is out of Kansas City's lineup for a second consecutive game while tending to a sore left elbow, though he could be available off the bench for Saturday's contest. Carter Jensen will start behind home plate while Starling Marte serves as the Royals' designated hitter.

  • Dylan Beavers RF | BAL

    Orioles' Dylan Beavers: Sitting Saturday

Beavers is not in the Orioles' starting lineup against the Reds on Saturday.

Beavers will be on the bench while Taylor Ward, Colton Cowser and Leody Taveras start in the outfield for the Orioles on Saturday from left to right. Since returning from the 10-day injured list last weekend, Beavers has gone 1-for-14 with one RBI and five strikeouts.

  • Rays' Chandler Simpson: Sitting again Saturday

Simpson (finger) is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Astros on Saturday.

Simpson was a late scratch Friday due to sore right index and middle fingers, which will keep him out of the lineup for a second consecutive game. Victor Mesa, Cedric Mullins and Jonny DeLuca will start in the outfield Saturday from left to right.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Not in Saturday's lineup

Diaz is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Astros on Saturday.

Diaz will get a breather after going 1-for-12 with two walks over his last three games. Jonathan Aranda will serve as the Rays' designated hitter Saturday while Ryan Vilade draws the start at first base.

  • Zebby Matthews SP | MIN

Twins' Zebby Matthews: Exits game with foot injury

Matthews was removed during the fifth inning of his start Saturday against the Yankees due to a right foot laceration, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

Matthews kept the Yankees off the board through three innings, but he unraveled a bit thereafter. His struggles may have been due in part to the foot injury, and he'll end his day having allowed four runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five across 4.2 innings. It's unclear whether the injury will prevent Matthews from making his next turn through the rotation, with his next start tentatively lined up for next weekend at home against the Angels.

  • Gabriel Arias 1B | NYM

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Taking seat Saturday

Arias out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Arias will be on the bench to begin Saturday's contest while Daniel Schneemann starts at third base and bats seventh. Since coming off the 60-day injured list June 14, Arias is batting just .214 with one home run and two RBI, but he started the hot corner in each of the previous seven games and is expected to operate as the Guardians' preferred option at the position until Jose Ramirez (hand) returns from the injured list.
