Okamoto went 1-for-2 with a homer and two runs scored in Toronto's 8-6 loss to Washington on Tuesday.

After replacing the injured Vladimir Guerrero (hamstring) at first base in the bottom of the fourth inning, Okamoto clubbed a homer in his first at-bat in the fifth. The 30-year-old later came around to score on George Springer's three-run homer in the eighth. On the campaign, Okamoto is slashing .226/.304/.449 with 24 homers and 66 RBI in 427 plate appearances. If Guerrero is to miss time, Okamoto would likely receive more playing time at first base.

Baez went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 14-0 rout of the Orioles.

Getting the start in center field and batting ninth in his first big-league action since April 28, Baez made an immediate impact as part of a 19-hit barrage by the Tigers that saw them put at least one run on the board in every inning. Baez will likely take over for James Outman as Detroit's primary center fielder in the short term, but the potential promotion of top prospect Max Clark looms if the organization decides to give him a look later in the season. Over 86 plate appearances this season, Baez sports a .280/.302/.427 slash line with two homers, one steal, six RBI and 11 runs.

McGonigle went 4-for-5 with a walk, four runs scored and an RBI in Tuesday's 14-0 rout of the Orioles.

The star rookie found his way home in the first, second, fourth and seventh innings as Detroit put at least one run on the board in every frame. McGonigle has banged out multiple hits in three straight games, and over 11 contests since the All-Star break he's batting .333 (15-for-45) with two doubles, a homer, two RBI and eight runs.

Bieber (2-2) took the loss against the Nationals on Tuesday, allowing four runs on one hit and six walks over two-thirds of an inning.

Bieber failed to get out of the first inning, marking the shortest start of his career. The 31-year-old also allowed six walks, which is a new career high. On the season, the right-hander holds a 5.74 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 22:18 K:BB in 31.1 innings. With Bieber being a potential trade candidate before Monday's trade deadline, his career-worst start may diminish his overall value to potential trade suitors.

Melton (6-1) picked up the win in Tuesday's 14-0 rout of the Orioles, scattering three hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out five.

The O's couldn't even get a runner into scoring position against Melton, while the Tigers' offense put at least one run on the board in every single inning. The 25-year-old right-hander has allowed two runs or fewer in seven straight starts dating back to June 20, delivering a dazzling 1.09 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 46:15 K:BB over 41.1 innings during that dominant stretch. Melton will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is set to come on the road early next week in Seattle.

Kremer (1-4) took the loss Tuesday, coughing up eight runs on eight hits and three walks over four innings as the Orioles were routed 14-0 by the Tigers. He struck out four.

Detroit scored in every inning, so Kremer was hardly the only Baltimore pitcher to struggle on the night, but the right-hander took the brunt of the damage. Half the hits off him went for extra bases, including homers by Eduardo Valencia in the second inning and Gleyber Torres in the fourth, and Kremer got the hook after 81 pitches (45 strikes). He's been tagged for 14 runs in 10 innings over his last two starts, inflating his ERA on the season to 6.50, and with Chris Bassitt (back) on the same schedule as Kremer during his rehab stint, his time in the big-league rotation could be running short. Kremer's set to get at least one more start while Bassitt gets stretched out, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Angels.

Torres went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and five total RBI in Tuesday's 14-0 win over the Orioles.

Torres easily set a new season high in RBI as he helped pace a Detroit offensive explosion. The veteran infielder's previous season best in RBI was two, and his home run was his first since June 11. Torres did miss about a month of action due to an oblique strain, and Tuesday's effort was his best since returning from the injured list last week.

Valencia went 4-for-5 with two home runs, an additional run scored and four total RBI in Tuesday's 14-0 win over the Orioles.

Valencia was just recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, and in his first game action since then, he made quite the impression. The rookie homered in his first MLB at-bat back on July 9, and he now has four long balls in only seven games in the majors. Valencia is unlikely to keep up this torrid pace, though he has hit 17 homers in 81 games with the Mud Hens, so the 26-year-old has some definite pop in his bat. With Jake Rogers having been DFA'd on Tuesday, the Tigers seem set to ride with Valencia as the backup to Dillon Dingler for the rest of the season.

Ramirez went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Reds.

The star third baseman produced a run nearly single-handedly in the fifth inning of an eventual 6-5 win for Cleveland, reaching on a one-out single, swiping second and third off the battery of Chase Burns and Tyler Stephenson, and then coming home on a Chase DeLauter sacrifice fly. Ramirez, who stole his first bags since returning from a hand injury July 22, is up to 26 steals on the season in just 78 games. After an 0-for-4 showing in the nightcap, he carries a .235/.332/.399 slash line with 10 homers, 35 RBI and 45 runs.

Pasquantino was removed from Tuesday's game against the Twins with right hand soreness.

Pasquantino's hand forced him out of Tuesday's contest in the ninth inning after he'd gone 0-for-3 with a strikeout. If his injury causes him to sit out additional games, Jac Caglianone would likely take over as Kansas City's first baseman while Tyler Tolbert mans right field.
