Sugano was lifted from his start Sunday against the Blue Jays after four innings due to an apparent right hand injury, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports. He struck out one and allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks in his MLB debut.

Sugano returned to the hill for the bottom of the fifth after tossing 73 pitches through four innings, but he cut his warmup short and was visited on the mound by a trainer. After getting his hand checked out, Sugano then headed to the dugout without throwing a pitch. The Orioles should have an update on Sugano's status after the game, but his availability for his next projected turn through the rotation next weekend in Kansas City may now be up in the air.

Taylor (lat) was spotted playing catch Sunday and is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma this week, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Seattle placed Taylor on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to a right lat strain, which he suffered in late January while going through his offseason throwing program. While Taylor wasn't able to return to game action before the end of spring training, he looks like he'll be ready to head to the minors in the coming days. Taylor will be eligible to come off the IL on April 8.

Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Dylan Moore will pick up a start at third base in place of Polanco, who occupied the hot corner for each of the Mariners' first three games of the season. Polanco recorded at least one hit in each of those contests, going 5-for-10 with a home run and three RBI.

Raley is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

With the Athletics sending a southpaw (JP Sears) to the bump for the second time in three games, Raley will once again take a seat. Mitch Garver will replace Raley in the lineup at designated hitter.

Tellez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

The left-handed hitting Tellez will hit the bench for the second time in three days while the Athletics send another southpaw (JP Sears) to the hill. Donovan Solano will check in for Tellez at first base.

Langeliers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Jhonny Pereda will pick up a start behind the plate in Langeliers' stead as the Athletics close out their season-opening series with a day game. While starting the first three games of the series, Langeliers went 2-for-11 with a home run, a walk and three RBI.

Muncy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

The 22-year-old has gone 2-for-12 with a solo homer and four strikeouts in his first three MLB games, and he'll take a seat for Sunday's series finale in Seattle. Max Schuemann will start at second base and bat ninth in place of Muncy.

The Athletics claimed Perdomo off waivers from the Angels on Sunday.

Perdomo doesn't have minor-league options remaining, so he'll presumably report to the Athletics in the next day or two and slot into a middle-relief role. The southpaw didn't pitch in 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but with Pittsburgh in 2023, Perdomo made 30 big-league relief appearances and logged a 3.72 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 44:11 K:BB across 29 innings.

The Athletics designated Ruiz for assignment Sunday.

The 26-year-old was the Athletics' main return piece in the trade that sent catcher Sean Murphy (ribs) to Atlanta in 2022, but the outfielder is no longer on the 40-man roster. Ruiz stole 67 bases as a rookie in 2023 but had an underwhelming .254/.309/.345 slash line in 132 games, and he played in just 29 big-league contests last season. Ruiz will remain at Triple-A Las Vegas if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Heim and Kyle Higashioka ended up splitting time behind the plate during the season-opening series with the Red Sox, with the two backstops picking up a pair of starts apiece. While it's unclear if the timeshare arrangement will continue all season long, Heim's hold on the No. 1 catching job in Texas at least appears to be more tenuous coming off a dismal 2024 campaign in which he mustered a .603 OPS over 491 plate appearances. Heim has gotten off to a nice start through his first two games of 2025, popping a pair of solo home runs in six plate appearances.
