Burger went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 14-3 loss to Cincinnati.

Burger's two-run shot in the ninth inning was little consolation for the Rangers, who were down 6-0 after two innings and 14-0 before they got on the scoreboard. The homer was Burger's first of the season. The first baseman has reached base safely in four of the first five games, scoring four runs and knocking in three.

Smith started at third base and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Monday's 14-3 loss to the Reds.

Smith returned from a quadricep injury to fill in at third for the injured Josh Jung (IL-neck). It's likely he'll be the primary fill-in at the hot corner until Jung is ready to return. Ezequiel Duran and Jonathan Ornelas are also around and could grab a start or two against a lefty.

Raleigh went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 9-6 loss to the Tigers.

Although the game was relatively out of reach, Raleigh launched a two-run shot in the ninth inning to at least keep hope alive for the Mariners temporarily. The switch-hitting backstop hit just .186 over 59 at-bats during spring training, and he's gone just 2-for-17 with three walks and a stolen base in his first five games of the season.

Wilson went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in an 18-3 loss to the Cubs on Monday.

Wilson put the Athletics on the board in the third inning with a solo shot to left field. He added another RBI on a groundout in the fourth in what was then a 5-3 game, but Chicago went on to score the final 13 runs to turn the contest into a rout. Wilson isn't known for his power, and Monday's long ball was the first of his major-league career after he failed to go deep over 103 plate appearances as a rookie last season.

Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and a walk in Monday's 9-6 loss to the Tigers.

Arozarena took Tigers right-hander Jackson Jobe deep for a solo blast in the second inning. While the 30-year-old outfielder has just three hits in 20 plate appearances through his first five games, each has gone for extra bases. Arozarena has also drawn four walks, and the combination of the pop and patience at the plate has helped lead to a .975 OPS despite a .188 batting average.

Bautista gave up two runs on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning during Monday's 8-5 win over the Red Sox.

Bautista labored Monday, needing 26 pitches to finish off the game. A Romy Gonzalez double and Jarren Duran single plated two runs to make this one interesting, but Alex Bregman popped out while representing the tying run to end the contest. Bautista is still working his way back into form after missing all of last season due to Tommy John surgery and likely won't work back-to-back days early on, but he'll have a day off before Wednesday's meeting with Boston.

Estes (0-1) allowed six runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out two batters over four innings Monday to take the loss against the Cubs.

Estes had the honor of starting the Athletics' first home game in Sacramento, but he was unable to turn in a good outing. Chicago tagged him for three long balls, two of which came in a four-run first inning. Estes also struggled with his control, throwing just 49 of 85 pitches for strikes and issuing four free passes. He narrowly won a spot over Mitch Spence in the team's rotation following a poor performance during spring training, so Estes will likely need to show considerable improvement moving forward to stick as a big-league starter.

Hedges went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Monday in a loss to the Padres.

Hedges made the most of his first game action of the regular season, swatting a solo homer to left field in the third inning. The veteran catcher has shown the ability to hit for power in the past -- he had 18 long balls in 2017 while with the Padres -- but he's been mostly a backup in recent campaigns due to a lack of on-base skills (his OBP hasn't exceeded .241 since 2019). Hedges is working as Cleveland's No. 2 catcher this season behind Bo Naylor.

Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Monday's 7-2 loss to San Diego.

Ramirez was held out of Sunday's matchup against Kansas City due to a right wrist sprain, but he was back in action Monday after missing just one game. The issue didn't seem to have any impact on his swing, as the star third baseman notched his first two extra-base hits of the season -- a first-inning solo homer and a third-inning double. Ramirez went 0-for-6 with a walk over his first two games entering Monday.

Ortiz (0-1) took the loss against the Padres on Monday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 4.2 innings.

The outing started well enough for Ortiz, as he retired the side in order on three groundouts in the first inning. However, the Padres exploded for four runs in the second frame, and they tacked on three more runs against him in the fifth. A lack of control was partly to blame for Ortiz's struggles, as he walked four batters, and three of those recipients came around to score. The right-hander struggled during the spring slate, and those issues carried over into at least his first outing of the regular season. Ortiz will try to right the ship the next time he takes the mound, which is tentatively slated to be this weekend against the Angels.
