The Red Sox acquired Rodriguez, a 2025 Competitive Balance Round A draft pick, and a player to be named later or cash considerations from the Brewers on Monday in exchange for right-hander Quinn Priester.

Injuries have tested Milwaukee's rotation depth in the early going, so the organization was willing to part ways with one of its better lower-level outfield prospects in Rodriguez in order to get another promising young arm in its system. After slashing .250/.343/.383 with seven home runs and six stolen bases over 110 games for Single-A Carolina in 2024, Rodriguez had gotten off to a nice start to 2025 at High-A Wisconsin, going 5-for-12 with a 1:3 BB:K in 13 plate appearances. The 19-year-old is likely to report to Boston's High-A affiliate in Greenville.

Palacios (finger) has yet to regain full grip strength with his right hand, which will further delay his return from the 10-day injured list, MLB.com reports.

Palacios was placed on the IL prior to Opening Day after fracturing the tip of his right ring finger late in spring training. The Rays had initially been hopeful that Palacios would require an abbreviated stay on the IL, but with the utility player not healing as quickly as anticipated, an early-April return no longer looks to be in the cards. Once Palacios is able to regain full grip strength, he'll need to build up through numerous live batting practice sessions and simulated games before heading out on a minor-league rehab assignment. Palacios' continued absence should help extend Kameron Misner's and Jake Mangum's time with the big club.

The Twins designated McCaughan for assignment Monday.

Despite pitching well over his three relief appearances with the Twins -- he gave up one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out six over 5.1 innings -- McCaughan will be cycled off the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster in favor of a fresher arm in right-hander Scott Blewett, who was called up from Triple-A St. Paul. If McCaughan isn't traded or claimed off waivers, he'll remain in the Twins organization and report back to St. Paul, where he could serve as a swingman.

The Twins selected Blewett's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

He'll take over the 40-man roster spot and 26-man active roster spot of right-hander Darren McCaughan, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. The 28-year-old Blewett retired just one batter and allowed three earned runs in his most recent relief appearance for St. Paul on Friday, but he was effective in his 20.1 innings with the big club in 2024, logging a 1.77 ERA and 1.23 WHIP.

Zeferjahn (hamstring) claimed his first win of the season in Sunday's 6-2 victory over the Guardians, tossing a scoreless inning of relief while striking out three batters and giving up one hit.

After being removed from his relief appearance in Friday's 8-6 loss due to a sore right hamstring, Zeferjahn received Saturday off before the Angels made him available for the series finale. Tasked with protecting a 2-2 lead in the top of the sixth inning, Zeferjahn worked around a leadoff infield single before striking out Kyle Manzardo, Jhonkensy Noel and Gabriel Arias in succession. Zeferjahn ended up getting credit for the win after Jorge Soler hit a home run in the bottom of the sixth to give the Angels a lead that they maintained for the rest of the afternoon.

Gonzalez went a combined 4-for-7 with an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's doubleheader sweep over St. Louis.

Gonzalez entered the matinee as a pinch hitter, singling in place of starting second baseman David Hamilton in the seventh inning, and finished out at the keystone. The utility infielder then had a big hit in Boston's two-run ninth inning against Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley, delivering a one-out double that plated the first run and put the tying run in scoring position. Boston eventually won the first game in the 10th inning. Gonzalez finished an impactful day by starting the nightcap at first base, contributing two more hits and two runs.

Abreu entered the first game of Sunday's doubleheader as a pinch hitter and stayed in to play right field. He went 1-for-1 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in a 5-4 extra-inning win in the matinee. Abreu started the nightcap in right field and went 2-for-6 with three RBI.

Another big day for Abreu, MLB's early-season leader in average (.483), on-base percentage (.595) and slugging (.897). He didn't play Saturday for undisclosed reasons and was held out of the starting nine for Sunday's matinee, but he entered as a pinch hitter. He walked in the bottom of the ninth inning -- one of four free passes authored by St. Louis closer Ryan Helsley -- and eventually came in to score the run that sent the game into the 10th inning, where he became the hero. His walk-off single completed Boston's comeback. Abreu has six extra-base hits, eight walks, 10 runs scored and 12 RBI through 10 contests.

Mangum went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Rangers.

Mangum has started six of eight games since being recalled to the majors March 29. He's earned the playing time by maintaining a five-game hitting streak, also chipping in four RBI, three runs scored and four stolen bases in that span. Mangum isn't likely to be much of a power contributor, but he's shown the ability to chip in everywhere else in the box score.

Diaz went 0-for-5 with a strikeout Sunday against the Twins.

Diaz has struggled significantly to begin the season, collecting only two hits across 26 at-bats. He has just a .105 BABIP -- a mark that will surely improve -- but Diaz has also seen his strikeout rate inflate to 25 percent in the early going.

Meyers went 1-for-2 with three walks, a double, two runs scored and two stolen bases Sunday against the Twins.

Meyers has opened the season by splitting time with Chas McCormick in center field nearly exactly evenly. That has limited both players' fantasy appeal, though Meyers showcased his potential with a strong showing Sunday. He tallied his second extra-base hit of the season with a double in the fifth inning, and he then stole home on a double steal in the 10th frame to propel Houston to a win. Meyers could ultimately claim the majority of playing time in center thanks to his strong defense, though he has a career 86 wRC+, so his impact for fantasy purposes would likely remain limited primarily to stolen bases.
