Aranda is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Red Sox.

It's southpaw Sean Newcomb on the bump for the Red Sox, so the lefty-hitting Aranda will yield to the right-handed-batting Curtis Mead at first base. Aranda has been absent from the lineup all four times the Rays have faced a lefty this season.

The Red Sox recalled Sogard from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.

Sogard will likely be in line for a brief stay with the big club, as he was called up from Triple-A to replace Alex Bregman (personal), who was placed on the paternity list Wednesday but could be available as soon as Friday. While he's up with Boston, Sogard will provide the bench with some extra versatility; he's made starts at all four infield spots in addition to right field at Triple-A this season.

Campbell is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Tampa Bay, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

It's a routine day off for Campbell, who had started each of the previous eight contests. David Hamilton will start at second base and bat eighth for the Red Sox in Wednesday's series finale.

Loaisiga (elbow) threw a live batting practice session Wednesday, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports.

It appears to be the first time he's faced hitters since last April's internal brace procedure. The Yankees hope Loaisiga can rejoin their bullpen by late May or early June, but he still has some work to do in his rehab program before a timeline for his return becomes clearer.

The Red Sox placed Bregman (personal) on the paternity list Wednesday.

As a result of the transaction, Bregman will have to miss at least one game and a maximum of three while he welcomes a new addition to his family. The Red Sox recalled Nick Sogard from Triple-A Worcester to provide some extra coverage in the infield while Bregman is away from the team.

The White Sox selected Wilson's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

Wilson was removed from the 40-man roster back in February, but he's found his way back to the majors after permitting just one run with a 10:1 K:BB over 5.1 frames at Charlotte this season. He will likely operate in middle relief initially, but Wilson could work his way up the hierarchy of a talent-deficient bullpen if he gets off to a nice start.

Mastrobuoni is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Mastrobuoni had cracked the lineup in each of the Mariners' previous four games against right-handed starting pitchers, but he'll head to the bench Wednesday as the Reds send righty Nick Martinez to the hill. With Jorge Polanco limited to designated-hitter duties while he tends to a side injury, the Mariners could mix and match with Mastrobuoni, Ben Williamson (who is starting Wednesday) and Dylan Moore at third base rather than settling on a primary replacement.

The Mariners recalled Klein from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

He's taking the roster spot vacated by Gregory Santos, who was sent down to Tacoma. Klein has struggled this season with Tacoma, yielding nine runs with a 13:7 K:BB over 6.1 relief innings.

The Mariners optioned Santos to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

The Mariners had high hopes that a finally healthy Santos could be a weapon in their bullpen this season, but he has struggled mightily, posting a 5.14 ERA and ugly 0:8 K:BB over seven innings. Will Klein is absorbing his spot in the Seattle bullpen.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that Sogard will be called up from Triple-A Worcester ahead of Wednesday's game at Tampa Bay, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Alex Bregman will head to the paternity list in a corresponding move, which means he will be unavailable for as many as three games. Sogard will give Cora another infield option while Bregman is away, but it could be Romy Gonzalez who serves as the primary replacement at third base over the next few days.
