The Mariners recalled Klein from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

He's taking the roster spot vacated by Gregory Santos, who was sent down to Tacoma. Klein has struggled this season with Tacoma, yielding nine runs with a 13:7 K:BB over 6.1 relief innings.

The Mariners optioned Santos to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

The Mariners had high hopes that a finally healthy Santos could be a weapon in their bullpen this season, but he has struggled mightily, posting a 5.14 ERA and ugly 0:8 K:BB over seven innings. Will Klein is absorbing his spot in the Seattle bullpen.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that Sogard will be called up from Triple-A Worcester ahead of Wednesday's game at Tampa Bay, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Alex Bregman will head to the paternity list in a corresponding move, which means he will be unavailable for as many as three games. Sogard will give Cora another infield option while Bregman is away, but it could be Romy Gonzalez who serves as the primary replacement at third base over the next few days.

Eflin (lat) played catch Wednesday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Eflin began a throwing progression after being shut down with a mild right lat strain one week ago. The veteran right-hander is optimistic his absence won't last long, but a clearer picture of Eflin's timetable won't be available until he's further along in his throwing program.

Westburg is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Westburg missed a game last week with an upper-body issue but had started each of the previous three contests. His absence from Wednesday's lineup appears to be a routine day off. Ramon Urias will start at third base and bat ninth for the Orioles.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli indicated that Wallner (hamstring) could be available off the bench during Wednesday's game against the Mets, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.

Wallner was forced to depart Tuesday's game against the Mets due to left hamstring tightness and was set to undergo an MRI. The results of that imaging haven't been revealed, but Baldelli doesn't seem to believe Wallner's absence from the lineup will last long.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli indicated that Correa (wrist) could be available off the bench Wednesday versus the Mets, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.

There's no word yet on the results of the MRI on Correa's left wrist, but the fact that he might be available to enter mid-game suggests Baldelli isn't overly concerned about his shortstop's health. Correa was lifted for a pinch hitter in Tuesday's contest with soreness in his wrist after fouling off a pitch. Consider him day-to-day.

Seymour has a 2.40 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 23:3 K:BB in 15 innings across three starts for Triple-A Durham.

The only Triple-A pitcher with a higher swinging-strike rate than Seymour (19.4 percent) is Spencer Strider (22.6 percent), who was completing a rehab assignment. Seymour is a lefty with a deceptive three-quarters delivery and a knack for keeping hitters off balance by changing speeds and landing all of his pitches for strikes. His fastball has averaged 89.6 mph (touched 91.6 mph) and he has thrown his changeup as much or more than his fastball while mixing in his cutter and seldom-used curveball and sweeper. Seymour is already on the 40-man roster and could join the big-league rotation whenever there is a need.

Dubon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

With Brendan Rodgers (hip) making his return to the lineup Wednesday, Dubon will shift back into a utility role. Dubon had started at second base in each of the previous three games while Rodgers was out, going 3-for-8 with a double, two walks, two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that Scherzer (thumb) is scheduled to meet with a doctor Wednesday after throwing on consecutive days, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Scherzer experienced renewed soreness in his thumb after throwing late last week, but after a brief shutdown, the right-hander was able to start playing catch again. He'll get a checkup Wednesday from a different hand specialist than the one he had been meeting with previously with the hope that he's cleared to ramp up the intensity and volume of his throwing. Easton Lucas should continue to hold down a spot in the rotation until Scherzer is able to return from the injured list, perhaps in late April or early May if he incurs no further setbacks in the recovery process.
