Ragans (1-1) took the loss Friday against the Tigers after giving up five earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out eight batters across four-plus innings.

Pitching at an 18 K/9 pace typically indicates a strong performance from a pitcher, but that was just about the only positive thing Ragans had going for him Friday. He squandered an early lead by allowing an RBI single in the second inning and began pitching from behind after giving up a solo shot to Andy Ibanez in the fourth. Ragans came back out for the start of the fifth frame but was quickly pulled after allowing the first three batters to reach base, all of whom eventually came around to score. The swing-and-miss specialist now carries a 3.58 ERA following his tough outing, though he should have a good chance to bounce back during his next start against a Rockies lineup that strikes out 10.8 times per game.

Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with one run scored in Friday's 1-0 win over the Rays.

Goldschmidt was responsible for three of the Yankees' five hits Friday, and he was brought home in the second inning on a Trent Grisham RBI single for the game's only run. It was the fourth time this season that Goldschmidt logged three hits in a game, and he's started the year slashing .373/.415/.480 with 11 runs scored, one home run and six RBI across 83 plate appearances.

Rasmussen (1-1) took the loss against the Yankees on Friday, allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out seven across 5.2 innings.

Rasmussen put together another strong performance Friday, tossing 84 pitches (58 strikes) while generating 17 whiffs and fanning seven batters for a second straight game. The RBI single that he gave up to Trent Grisham in the second inning was Rasmussen's only blemish, but he still came away with the loss due to the lack of run support from the Tampa Bay offense. Rasmussen has allowed only two runs across his four outings and sports a 0.82 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB in 20.2 innings. He's in line to face the Diamondbacks on the road next week.

Grisham went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in Friday's 1-0 win over the Rays.

Grisham was responsible for Friday's lone run when his RBI single off Drew Rasmussen brought Paul Goldschmidt home in the second inning. Grisham has struggled at the plate as of late, but he's begun the season slashing .310/.383/.619 with four walks, 10 runs scored, four home runs and 11 RBI in 47 plate appearances.

Woo (2-1) took the loss Friday against the Blue Jays after allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks in seven innings. He struck out four.

Friday marked the third quality start already this year for Woo, who was charged with his first loss despite throwing at least six innings in his fourth straight outing to open the campaign. Woo gave up just one extra-base hit, and two of his three runs allowed came on sacrifice flies. The hard-throwing right-hander should remain an upper-echelon fantasy starter as long as he stays healthy, and Woo sports a 3.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB over 26 innings this season ahead of a tough spot in next week's scheduled start in Boston.

Rodon (2-3) earned the win against Tampa Bay on Friday, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out nine across six scoreless innings.

After putting the first two batters he faced in the first inning on base, Rodon bounced back with three consecutive strikeouts and was in control for the rest of his outing, earning his first quality start of the season. The 32-year-old southpaw has fanned at least eight batters in each of his last three starts, and his 37 punchouts on the year rank third in the majors behind Cole Ragans (42) and Zack Wheeler (41). Rodon is in line to take on the Guardians on the road next week, when he'll look to make it two wins in a row.

Francis (2-2) earned the win Friday against the Mariners after allowing one run on five hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out five.

Other than a Rowdy Tellez solo home run in the second inning, the Mariners didn't have much of an answer for Francis on Friday. The 28-year-old Francis was a popular 2025 breakout candidate in some fantasy circles before the season, as he boasted a 1.80 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 58:8 K:BB over his final 65 innings of 2024, and the right-hander is off to a fine start this year with a 3.13 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 20:8 K:BB through 23 innings. Francis has given up five homers over four starts, so he'll be looking to keep the ball in the park in next week's scheduled outing in Houston against an underperforming Astros lineup.

Dobbins (2-0) earned the win Friday against the White Sox after allowing two runs on four hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out six.

The rookie right-hander capitalized on a soft matchup against a hapless White Sox lineup, throwing three spotless innings to begin the game. Andrew Benintendi led off the fourth with a solo home run, and Joshua Palacios managed to scratch another run across on a groundout in the sixth, but it was smooth sailing for Dobbins otherwise. It's unclear if Dobbins will stick in Boston's rotation following Friday's outing, as it appears Brayan Bello's (shoulder) return is near, but Dobbins has a promising 2.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 11:2 K:BB over the first 11 innings of his major-league career.

X-rays on Erceg's left foot came back negative after his removal from Friday's game against Detroit.

Erceg wasn't able to walk off the field by himself after getting hit by a 109-mph comebacker in the seventh inning of Friday's contest, but it seems he escaped the incident with only a bruise. He can be considered day-to-day, though the Royals may stay away from using him out of the bullpen until his foot has time to recover.

Erceg was removed from Friday's game against the Tigers after begin hit on his left foot by a comebacker, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

A 109-mph line drive off the bat of Riley Greene found Erceg's left foot/ankle in the seventh inning. He immediately collapsed to the ground after getting hit and wasn't able to walk off the field without the help of a trainer. The Royals should have more information on his status once they're able to take a look at him.
