The Angels optioned Eder to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com reports.

Eder appeared in three games out of the Halos' bullpen since being recalled from Triple-A on April 26. He tossed two scoreless innings over his first two outings, but he gave up a two-run home run to Riley Greene in the ninth inning of Friday's loss to the Tigers. Eder will return to Salt Lake, where he is 1-0 in three starts with a 6.00 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB across nine innings.

Baez is not in the Tigers' starting lineup against the Angels on Saturday.

Baez will begin Saturday's game in the dugout while Zach McKinstry, Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter man the outfield. Baez is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak, and over that span he has gone 7-for-20 (.350) with one stolen base, five runs scored, three home runs and nine RBI.

Torres (hamstring) is starting at second base and batting third against the Angels on Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Torres did not start in Friday's series opener after tweaking his hamstring against the Angels on Thursday, and one day off has been enough for him to return to the lineup. He's started the season slashing .300/.360/.475 with four stolen bases, 13 runs scored, four home runs and 15 RBI in 89 plate appearances.

The Astros optioned VanWey to Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Since making his MLB debut April 11, VanWey has allowed one run on nine hits and a walk while striking out one batter and walking one over 5.2 innings. He'll now be sent back to the minors to clear a roster spot in preparation for Lance McCullers' (forearm) long-awaited return from the injured list Sunday.

Kirby (shoulder) will begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Kirby is in the final stages of his recovery from right shoulder inflammation that caused him to be placed on the 15-day injured list at the beginning of the season. He's slated to make his first rehab outing Sunday, and he'll need at least two or three starts in Triple-A before making his way back to the majors.

Volpe said after Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rays that he felt a "pop" in his left shoulder in the eighth inning, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports.

Volpe injured his left shoulder while diving for a groundball, but he was able to stay in the game after being checked on by trainers. X-rays after Saturday's game came back clean, but the 24-year-old shortstop will undergo further testing and is in jeopardy of missing Sunday's series finale. Oswaldo Cabrera and Pablo Reyes could fill in at shortstop if Volpe were to be sidelined.

Taveras is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Taveras will give way to Dustin Harris in center field Saturday after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during Friday's series opener.

Dunning cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Round Rock.

Dunning will officially stick with the organization after being dropped from the 40-man roster Wednesday. He's made five starts in the minors so far this season, posting a 5.40 ERA and 1.55 WHIP across 20 innings, and he could be in consideration for a move back to the Rangers if the big club's pitching depth is tested down the road.

The Rangers optioned Ornelas to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Ornelas was brought onto the active roster Friday to replace Nick Ahmed but will now head back to the minors to make room for Corey Seager, who was activated from the IL on Saturday. Ornelas hasn't had much success at the plate this season, going 0-for-5 during his brief stints in the majors and logging a .414 OPS across 67 Triple-A plate appearances.

The Rangers reinstated Seager (hamstring) from the injured list Saturday.

Seager has been out of action since April 23 due to a strained right hamstring, but the 10-day minimum is all he needed to make a full recovery. He'll slide back into his usual role as Texas' everyday shortstop and look to pick up where he left off after slashing .302/.362/.524 during April. Jonathan Ornelas was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.
