Clement is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Tigers.

Clement had started each of the previous seven tilts at second base but will take a seat for Friday's series opener. Michael Stefanic is at the keystone and batting eighth for the Blue Jays.

Bader (groin) is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Milwaukee.

It's the second straight absence for Bader after he suffered the groin injury during Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Orioles. Willi Castro is shifting to left field Friday while Kody Clemens receives a start at second base.

The Royals placed Clarke on the paternity leave list Friday.

Clarke will likely be away for the entirety of the weekend series at home against the Cardinals before rejoining the Royals ahead of the start of their road trip next week. He's tossed 5.1 scoreless frames since being added to the Kansas City bullpen in early May.

The Royals activated Blanco (Achilles) from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Blanco has been shelved for most of the season with right Achilles tendinopathy but is ready to return after playing 12 rehab games. The speedster will likely operate in a reserve role for now, but there's potential for him to move up the depth chart among a Royals outfield lacking talent.

France (foot) is starting at first base and batting cleanup Friday against the Brewers.

France sat the previous two contests after suffering a foot injury in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader, but he's back in action for Friday's series opener in Milwaukee. After posting a .745 OPS in his first 31 games of the year, France has struggled so far in May with a .217 average (10-for-46) and just two extra-base hits in 12 contests.

The Yankees activated Beeter (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Beeter is over his right shoulder impingement, but the Yankees have elected to keep him at Scranton-Wilkes-Barre -- where he had been on a rehab assignment -- for now. The righty has permitted four runs with a 13:7 K:BB over 8.2 rehab innings.

Correa (head) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.

A nasty collision Thursday against Baltimore sent Correa and Byron Buxton into the concussion protocol, and both players are on the bench for Friday's series opener in Milwaukee. Correa continues to be evaluated, but a stint on the 7-day injured list will be on tap if he's officially diagnosed with a concussion.

The Yankees designated Matzek for assignment Friday.

Matzek made seven relief appearances for the Yankees after recovering from an oblique strain and had a lot of traffic on the bases, yielding three runs on 11 hits and five walks over 6.1 frames. The left-hander hasn't been healthy and effective since 2021, but he shouldn't have trouble landing a minor-league contract.

Buxton (head) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.

The 31-year-old entered the concussion protocol after a collision with Carlos Correa (head) during Thursday's matchup with Baltimore, and both players are absent from the starting nine Friday. If diagnosed with a concussion, Buxton is likely to be placed on the 7-day injured list, but for now he should be considered day-to-day.

The Yankees activated Loaisiga (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Manager Aaron Boone had indicated Loaisiga would remain on his rehab assignment through the weekend, but the Yankees have elected to bring the reliever back early. Coming back from an internal brace procedure, Loaisiga dominated in six rehab appearances, allowing just one run with a 9:1 K:BB over 7.1 innings. The right-hander could work his way back into high-leverage appearances for the Yankees but will likely be eased back into such situations.
