Bleday is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Bleday has a .184/.259/.490 slash line with three doubles and four homers through 13 games in May, and he'll take a seat Sunday for the second time in the Athletics' past four contests. Tyler Soderstrom, Lawrence Butler and Brent Rooker will start from left to right in the outfield while Shea Langeliers receives a turn at designated hitter against San Francisco righty Justin Verlander.

Williamson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Williamson started the previous five games but will sit Sunday after going 2-for-18 with a walk and six strikeouts during that span, which has dropped his season-long OPS to .554. Miles Mastrobuoni will take over at the hot corner and bat eighth.

Moore is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Moore will sit for the third time in Seattle's past four games despite having a .778 OPS in nine contests since coming off the injured list May 6. Leo Rivas will cover the keystone and bat ninth in the series finale in San Diego.

Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Polanco has a .190/.261/.310 slash line through 13 games in May and will sit Sunday after starting the previous three contests. Cal Raleigh will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Mitch Garver receives a start behind the plate.

The Yankees reinstated Effross (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The right-hander opened the campaign on the injured list due to a hamstring strain he suffered at the start of spring training, and he won't immediately join the big-league club upon being activated. Effross hasn't seen significant action in the majors since 2022, when he had a 2.54 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 62:15 K:BB in 60 regular-season appearances between the Cubs and Yankees.

The Astros claimed Alexander off waivers Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Sugar Land, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The right-hander was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Friday but will retain a spot on the 40-man roster with a new organization. Alexander gave up 12 earned runs over six frames in the majors but has a 1.69 ERA in five starts at the Triple-A level this season.

Moncada (thumb) is starting at third base and batting third Sunday against the Dodgers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moncada was held out of Saturday's lineup after departing Friday's contest with the thumb issue, but he's back in the starting nine for Sunday's series finale. The 29-year-old missed most of April due to a sprained thumb but appears to have avoided a serious aggravation this time around.

The Angels designated Noda for assignment Sunday.

The 29-year-old was unable to earn a spot on the Halos' Opening Day roster and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Noda posted a .148/.364/.270 slash line and 34.1 percent strikeout rate in 38 games with Triple-A Salt Lake and will now be exposed to waivers.

The Angels placed Fermin on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right elbow impingement.

Fermin was called up by the Halos in late April and allowed five earned runs with a 12:5 K:BB over his first 7.2 frames in the majors. The right-hander will be eligible to be reinstated in late May, though it's unclear if he's expected to be available at that point.

The Angels selected Strickland's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

The veteran right-hander will join the Angels just two weeks after signing with the organization on a minor-league deal. Strickland opened the year in the minors with the Rangers but was granted his release after giving up 14 earned runs in 12 appearances. He was an effective bullpen option for Anaheim last year with a 3.31 ERA and 12 holds over 73.1 innings.
