The Guardians recalled Nikhazy from Triple-A Columbus to serve as the 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader with the Twins.

Nikhazy wasn't available for the resumption of Monday's suspended game earlier in the day, but he'll join the Guardians for Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest before likely heading back to Triple-A. The southpaw will work out of the bullpen for Cleveland this time around after he previously made a spot start in his MLB debut back on April 26 versus the Red Sox.

Hedges will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Earlier in the day, top backstop Bo Naylor caught the final six innings of the Guardians' 6-5 loss, which was the resumption of a game that was initially suspended Monday in the fourth inning. Since the Guardians and Twins are essentially playing a doubleheader Wednesday, Naylor will get some rest for the second contest of the day, allowing Hedges to pick up his 16th start of the season. Hedges is batting just .143, but he'll continue to get occasional starts versus lefties and when Naylor requires rest.

France is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Guardians.

France participated in the conclusion of a suspended game earlier in the day, but he'll begin Wednesday's regularly scheduled tilt on the bench. Jonah Bride will handle first base and bat fifth for the Twins.

Larnach is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Larnach played in the conclusion of a suspended game earlier Wednesday, but he will be on the bench at the beginning of the regularly scheduled contest. Ryan Jeffers is in the designated hitter spot and batting leadoff for the Twins.

Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Earlier Wednesday, the Guardians resumed their series opener with the Twins that had been suspended in the fourth inning Monday. Since Naylor caught six innings earlier in the day, he'll take a seat for the series finale, which is essentially the second game of a doubleheader. Austin Hedges will handle catching duties in Naylor's stead.

The Twins recalled Gasper from Triple-A St. Paul to serve as the 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader with the Guardians, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Gasper wasn't available for the resumption of Monday's suspended game earlier in the day, but he'll join the Twins for Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest before likely heading back to Triple-A. The utility infielder has logged 39 plate appearances with the Twins on the season and has slashed .176/.282/.206 with no home runs or stolen bases.

Vivas will start at third base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Since Oswaldo Cabrera landed on the injured list May 13 with what's expected to be a season-ending ankle injury, Vivas has taken over the strong side of a platoon at third base with Oswald Peraza. The 24-year-old Vivas' grasp on a regular role may be tenuous, however, as he's maintained a weak .167/.265/.200 slash line over his first 34 big-league plate appearances. Though Cabrera is likely done for the season, Jazz Chisholm (oblique) is expected to return from the IL at some point in June, at which point Vivas and Peraza might become bench options, with DJ LeMahieu likely shifting to the hot corner.

Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Goldschmidt will get a day off after starting in the last four contests and 10 of the past 11 tilts. Ben Rice will hold down first base and bat second for the Yankees.

Gusto is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Mariners in Houston, Brian Murphy of MLB.com reports.

With Houston optioning southpaw Brandon Walter to Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday and with righty Ronel Blanco (elbow) set for further evaluation and not in line to make his next start this weekend, Gusto will be called upon to fill an opening in the rotation. After getting roughed up for seven earned runs over 2.1 innings in a loss to the Royals on May 12 in his fifth start of the season, Gusto shifted back to a relief role last week, but his stay in the bullpen will be a brief one. Altogether, Gusto owns a 4.65 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB across 31 innings over his 11 total appearances on the season.

Quero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Quero will get a breather for the day game after he had started at either catcher or designated hitter in four of Chicago's last five contests. Matt Thaiss will get the nod behind the plate Wednesday while Andrew Vaughn serves as the White Sox's designated hitter.
