Taveras will start in right field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Since being claimed off waivers from the Rangers and getting added to the active roster May 7, Taveras has started in right field in all but one of the Mariners' ensuing 13 games. However, Taveras has largely failed to capitalize on the opportunity, as he's slashing just .150/.186/.225 with zero home runs, one stolen base, four RBI and three runs while striking out at a 38.6 percent clip. Though the Mariners don't have many appealing alternatives available, Taveras' hold on an everyday role could nonetheless be tenuous if he continues to flounder at the plate.

Baddoo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Baddoo had picked up starts in left field in each of the Tigers' last three games, going 2-for-9 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and an RBI. He'll hit the bench Wednesday and could soon be at risk of finding himself off the roster entirely, as fellow outfielders Matt Vierling (shoulder), Parker Meadows (arm) and Wenceel Perez (back) are in the midst of rehab assignments.

Torres is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Torres looks to be receiving a routine maintenance day after he had started in every game for Detroit since May 3. Colt Keith will step in at second base in place of Torres, who is slashing .295/.405/.459 with two home runs, 10 RBI and eight runs over 17 games on the month.

Caratini is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Caratini was behind the dish for the first two games of the series, but he'll get a breather for the Wednesday afternoon contest while Yainer Diaz handles the catching duties. Until Yordan Alvarez (hand) returns from the injured list, the Astros should have regular spots in the lineup available for both Diaz and Caratini at either catcher or designated hitter. Caratini had started in nine of the Astros' previous 11 games.

Biggio is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in San Francisco.

Biggio had started each of the Royals' last four games against right-handed pitching (two in left field, two at designated hitter), but he will begin Wednesday's festivities on the bench as the Giants send righty Logan Webb to the hill. Vinnie Pasquantino is at DH and Mark Canha is in left field for Wednesday's matinee.

India is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in San Francisco.

India played the previous two days after missing Sunday's game versus the Cardinals with a sore knee. He appears to be getting a routine day off Wednesday rather than dealing with any sort of setback.

Urias is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.

Though he still looks to be the Orioles' preferred option at third base while Jordan Westburg (hamstring) remains on the shelf, Urias will give way to Emmanuel Rivera at the hot corner Wednesday after starting in the first two games of the series in Milwaukee. Since being activated from the 10-day injured list a week ago, Urias has gone 3-for-17 with a double, three walks, four runs and three RBI in five games.

The Mariners designated Lawrence for assignment Wednesday.

The move comes one day after Lawrence allowed one run over five innings in a bulk-relief assignment versus the White Sox. Lawrence could clear waivers and report to Triple-A Tacoma.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson said Wednesday that Kirby (shoulder) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Thursday's game in Houston, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Kirby's third and final rehab start wasn't great from a results perspective, as he allowed four runs on 10 hits over four innings of work at Triple-A Tacoma last Friday. However, he got his fastball velocity up to 97.5 miles per hour in the outing, and the Mariners are convinced the right-hander is ready to face big-league hitters. Kirby threw 64 pitches in his final rehab outing, so he will be working with a relatively limited workload Thursday. He's been out all season while recovering from right shoulder inflammation.

Bigge experienced renewed soreness with his right lat Wednesday and won't begin a rehab assignment Friday with Triple-A Durham as had been planned, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Bigge has been on the shelf since May 6 due to a right lat strain but appeared to be on the cusp of pitching in games before waking up sore Wednesday. The Rays haven't indicated whether his setback is viewed as a major one, but Bigge will likely rest for at least a few more days before his next steps are determined.
