Shields (undisclosed) was cleared to begin a rehab assignment Monday, per MiLB's transactions log.

Shields was placed on the 60-day injured list March 19 due to an undisclosed injury, so he'll likely need at least a few appearances to get acclimated before returning to Double-A Somerset. He turned in a 3.12 ERA with a 65:21 K:BB across 52.0 innings a season ago with the Patriots.

Meadows went 2-for-4 with two walks, a double, a triple and three runs scored in Monday's 13-1 win over the White Sox. He also stole a base.

Making his 2025 debut for the Tigers after missing the first 60 games while recovering from a nerve issue in his throwing arm, Meadows jumped into the leadoff spot and appeared to be in midseason form. The 25-year-old outfielder will likely have some restrictions as the team eases him into action, but he could still be an impact player in fantasy leagues batting atop a Detroit lineup that has become quite formidable this year.

Carpenter went 3-for-5 with three home runs and five RBI in Monday's 13-1 win over the White Sox.

Carpenter was far from the only Detroit player to have a big night, though he still stole the show. The outfielder produced his second multi-homer game of the season and his first career game with three long balls. Carpenter had been slumping a bit, as he came into the contest with no home runs and a .188 batting average over his previous nine games, but he quickly put that behind him with the huge effort. Carpenter now has 13 homers for the year, and he's starting to close in on his career best of 20, which he recorded back in 2023.

The Orioles outrighted Tromp to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, per MLB's transactions log.

Tromp was cast off the 40-man roster Saturday and will report to Triple-A after failing to draw interest while on the waiver wire. He's batting .254 with three home runs, 10 RBI and nine runs scored across 20 games with the Tides this season.

Andujar (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday.

Skipper Mark Kotsay indicated Sunday that a trip to the injured list was on the table for Andujar, and the club made the move official Monday. JJ Bleday was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

Alvarado was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.

Alvarado will return to the major-league roster after being sent down to Las Vegas on May 13. The right-hander made five appearances in Triple-A after his demotion, allowing four runs on five hits and six walks while striking out six batters over five innings. Alvarado will operate as a replacement arm for Gunnar Hoglund (hip) after Hoglund was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday.

Bleday was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.

Bleday will join the Athletics in Sacramento ahead of their three-game series with the Twins beginning Monday night. The outfielder produced a home run, six RBI, five runs scored and two stolen bases while going 10-for-27 in six games with Las Vegas after being sent down May 23. Bleday will help replace the production of Miguel Andujar (oblique), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday.

Hoglund was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday due to a left hip impingement.

Hoglund was torched for eight runs on 10 hits in his previous start Saturday, though it's unclear if he suffered the injury during this outing or if this is an issue he's been dealing with for some time. Elvis Alvarado was promoted to the big leagues in one of the team's corresponding moves, but another move is presumably in the works considering Alvarado hasn't made a start this year.

The Orioles designated Hummel for assignment Monday.

The move creates space on the 26-man and 40-man rosters for the return of Colton Cowser (thumb). Hummel struck out in his lone plate appearance with Baltimore this season.

The Orioles activated Cowser (thumb) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Cowser is finally back on the Orioles' active roster after being sidelined since late March with a fractured left thumb. The 25-year-old outfielder is likely to serve as the Orioles' primary left fielder moving forward, although with Cedric Mullins (hamstring) out, Cowser could also see some action in center field in the short term.
