Jansen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Jansen and Matt Thaiss have now alternated turns behind the dish over the last eight games. After going 2-for-23 with 10 strikeouts over a stretch of seven games, Jansen broke out in Saturday's 11-10 loss, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBI and two additional runs.

Caballero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Caballero started the first two games of the series in the outfield and will sit Sunday while in the midst of an 0-for-14 slump. Jake Mangum, Kameron Misner and Josh Lowe will man the outfield from left to right field.

The Guardians optioned Noel to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Noel was hitting .104 (5-for-48) with 18 strikeouts in 23 games since the start of May and has now lost his place on the big-league roster. The 23-year-old will likely need to right the ship with Columbus before getting another look with the Guardians this summer. Johnathan Rodriguez was called up in a corresponding move.

Haggerty started in left field and went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Nationals.

Haggerty got the Rangers going early with a leadoff single two pitches into the game, before scoring the only run Texas would need. He scored a second run after leading off the eighth inning with his third single of the day. The switch-hitting Haggerty usually gets into lineups against lefties and the occasional righty. Evan Carter and Alejandro Osuna are also around for outfield duty, but neither is an ideal fit against southpaws.

The Guardians recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

The 25-year-old made Cleveland's Opening Day roster but accumulated just five plate appearances before being demoted in early April. Rodriguez has raked for Columbus since being sent down with seven homers and a .324/.408/.494 slash line in 46 games, and he seems set for the small side of an outfield platoon with Nolan Jones.

The Twins placed Matthews on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right shoulder strain.

Though he pitched effectively this past Wednesday against the Athletics en route to claiming his first big-league win of the year, Matthews apparently came out of that outing with a shoulder injury. The loss of the right-hander is the second big blow to the Minnesota rotation in less than a week, after Pablo Lopez was shelved Thursday due to a right teres major muscle strain that will likely keep him out for 2-3 months. The Twins haven't named a replacement for Matthews, but Simeon Woods Richardson could be summoned from Triple-A St. Paul to fill the void.

Thomas (foot) went through a full pre-game workout Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Thomas, who was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to May 27, resumed running earlier this week and is eligible to return at any time. He was batting just .119 at the time of his IL placement, but if Thomas can find his swing after an injury-plagued start to the season, the Guardians could use him. Cleveland center fielders (.190) and right fielders (.179) rank last in batting average in MLB.

The Twins reinstated Coulombe (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.

Minnesota cleared a spot for Coulombe on the 26-man roster by moving Zebby Matthews (shoulder) to the injured list. Though Jhoan Duran maintains a firm grip on the Twins' closing gig, Coulombe had been a sneaky source of fantasy value in his setup role prior to landing on the shelf May 18 due to an extensor strain in his left forearm. In addition to scooping up two saves, two holds and one win in 19 appearances, Coulombe has yet to allow a run this season with 19 strikeouts over 16.2 innings.

Sewald (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Saturday featuring fastballs only, MLB.com reports.

Sewald was added to the 15-day injured list in late April, and a few days later, manager Stephen Vogt said the right-hander would be out "a while." Sewald's been getting weekly checkups, and it appears he's ready to ramp up. He'll need to check the usual boxes before returning to the Guardians by throwing all his pitches in bullpen sessions before facing live hitters and then heading out on a rehab assignment.

Gipson-Long is scheduled to start Tuesday's game in Baltimore, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

The 27-year-old righty could be at risk of a demotion to the bullpen or Triple-A Toledo once the likes of Reese Olson (finger), Jackson Jobe (elbow) and Alex Cobb (hip) return from the injured list, but Gipson-Long will get at least one more turn through the Detroit rotation. In his first big-league start since 2023 following a lengthy recovery from Tommy John surgery and hip surgery, Gipson-Long took a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday, covering 3.2 innings and striking out three while allowing three earned runs on five hits and one walk. He tossed 70 pitches in that start but could push up to the 80-to-90 range during his upcoming outing.
