The Tigers designated Brebbia for assignment Sunday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The veteran right-hander has given up seven runs in his past four outings, and he's now lost his place on Detroit's 26-man active roster and 40-man roster. Brebbia has a 7.71 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB across 18.2 innings this season and will now go through the waivers process.

Triple-A Toledo placed Horn on its 7-day injured list May 24 due to left elbow inflammation, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Horn last pitched for Toledo on May 17 before landing on the shelf a week later, but he may be on the cusp of a return. He began a rehab assignment with Single-A Lakeland on Tuesday and has given up four runs (three earned) on three hits and one walk over 1.2 innings through his first two appearances.

Triple-A Toledo placed Guenther on its 7-day injured list May 30 due to an unspecified injury.

The southpaw reliever posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 10.1 innings over nine appearances for Detroit before being optioned to Triple-A on May 23. He made just two appearances for Toledo before hitting the shelf with an injury.

Holton will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Reds, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Horton will work as an opener for the third time this season after doing so nine times in 2024. The left-hander has surrendered five earned runs in his past five outings and has a 4.22 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB across 32 innings this season. Sawyer Gipson-Long is expected to follow him in bulk relief Sunday.

Gipson-Long is expected to work in relief behind opening pitcher Tyler Holton against the Reds on Sunday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Gipson-Long worked behind an opener in his previous outing Tuesday and gave up one run across 4.2 frames in a no-decision against the Orioles. The right-hander has a 4.32 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 8:1 K:BB through his first two appearances of 2025 after being sidelined for the first two months of the season while recovering from elbow and hip surgeries.

Woods Richardson is listed as the Twins' probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game against the Astros in Houston.

Woods Richardson was summoned from Triple-A St. Paul earlier this week and made his eighth start of the season for the Twins on Tuesday, taking a loss while lasting just 4.2 innings. Despite the poor outing, Woods Richardson will get another turn with Pablo Lopez (shoulder) and Zebby Matthews (shoulder) both on the injured list.

Chisholm (groin) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Chisholm re-entered the lineup Saturday after sitting out two games due to groin tightness. The veteran slugger seemed fine when he advanced from second to third base on a flyout in the second inning and when he scored from second base on a single in the seventh, so the injury appears to be behind him. Chisholm has posted a .998 OPS with two home runs, seven RBI and four steals over nine games since returning June 3 from a stint on the injured list.

Muncy went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's win over Kansas City.

The infielder launched a hanging slider from Michael Lorenzen into the left-field bullpen for a two-run homer in the second inning. Muncy has shown a clear uptick in power since being called back up in early June, slashing .270/.289/.595 with four home runs and 11 RBI over 37 at-bats. This may be a lost season for the Athletics in terms of playoff contention, but continued growth from the rookie would be a welcome development.

Lorenzen (4-7) took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over six innings against the Athletics. He struck out four.

The right-hander was burned by extra-base hits with men on base, surrendering a two-run homer to Max Muncy in the second inning and an RBI double to Luis Urias in the fourth inning. Lorenzen has endured a rough stretch of late, posting a 7.40 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 24.1 innings across his past five starts. Cole Ragans' shoulder injury slightly thins the Royals' rotation depth, but Lorenzen will still need to elevate his performance to retain his spot.

Lopez (1-4) earned the win Saturday, allowing three hits and one walk over six scoreless innings against the Royals. He struck out nine.

Lopez was spectacular as he set a new career high in strikeouts. The 27-year-old has bounced between the majors and minors, as well as between the bullpen and rotation, but he's been excellent in his past two appearances, allowing no earned runs over 10 innings while posting a 14:3 K:BB.
