Adell went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Astros.

The 26-year-old outfielder got the Halos on the board by taking Hunter Brown deep in the fourth inning. It was the third straight game with a homer for Adell, and 10 of his 16 long balls on the season have come in his last 20 contests -- a stretch in which he's slashing .279/.364/.735 with two steals, 14 runs and 17 RBI.

Kikuchi didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Astros, giving up two runs on six hits over seven innings. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

The southpaw looked like he was headed for a disastrous outing when Jeremy Pena and Isaac Paredes launched back-to-back homers to lead off the game, but Kikuchi kept his focus and shut the door on Houston until exiting the mound after 103 pitches (69 strikes), including 33 called or swinging strikes. The quality start was his seventh of the season, and he'll take a 3.01 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 87:43 K:BB through 89.2 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Red Sox.

Sousa struck out one in a perfect 10th inning Friday to record his second save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Angels.

Josh Hader worked the ninth to keep the game tied at 2-2, and with Bryan Abreu having handled the eighth, Sousa got the call to close things out after Houston grabbed the lead in the top of the 10th. The southpaw's first save came in a nearly identical scenario, as he wrapped up a 10-inning win over the Guardians on June 7 after Hader got the ninth. Sousa hasn't allowed a run in June, posting a 0.31 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB in 9.2 innings, and he appears to be working his way onto the fringes of the high-leverage picture for the Astros.

Rocker is slated to start Saturday's game against the Pirates at PNC Park.

The Rangers recalled Rocker from Triple-A Round Rock last weekend to make a start against the White Sox, and though he battled persistent cramping in his legs throughout the afternoon, he emerged from the outing with a win after striking out six batters over five shutout innings. With Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) and Tyler Mahle (shoulder) not yet ready to return from the injured list, Rocker will make his second turn through the rotation Saturday.

The shortstop led off the game by taking Yusei Kikuchi deep -- Pena's first long ball in June and 10th of the season. He's hardly been quiet at the plate, however, reeling off three straight multi-hit performances and slashing .395/.432/.513 through 18 games on the month with six steals, eight RBI and 15 runs.

Rodriguez started in right field and went 0-for-3 in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Athletics.

Rodriguez was called up earlier this month for a second stint in the majors, with the Guardians hoping that he could solve the season-long production issues in right field. He's been unable to fulfill the organization's hope, batting .160 (4-for-25) with a .472 OPS across 26 plate appearances.

Brown came away with a no-decision in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.

Brown nearly fell apart in the third inning -- the right-hander plunked Zach Neto with a pitch with one on, and after the two got into a shouting match that sparked both benches to empty, Brown walked Mike Trout to load the bases before escaping the jam by coaxing a grounder from Taylor Ward. A solo shot by Jo Adell in the fourth inning ended up accounting for the only damage off Brown, but the shaky third ran up his pitch count and he was lifted after 87 pitches (48 strikes). He's given up two runs or fewer in five straight outings, posting a 1.53 ERRA, 0.95 WHIP and 38:12 K:BB over 29.1 innings during that stretch. He'll look for his first win since June 1 in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Phillies.

Gipson-Long is slated to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Brant Hurter in Saturday's game against the Rays, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Gipson-Long remains part of the Detroit rotation but will be working out of the bullpen for his third straight appearance. After giving up three earned runs over 3.2 innings against the White Sox on June 4 in his lone start for the Tigers following his return from the 60-day injured list, Gipson-Long has posted a 2.35 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB in 7.2 innings over his last two outings.

Hurter will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Rays, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Hurter will draw his fourth start of the season, but as was the case in the previous three outings, he'll be operating as an opener once again Saturday rather than a traditional starter. The southpaw tossed 23 pitches in his most recent relief appearance Thursday against the Pirates, so the Tigers are unlikely to ask him to cover more than 2-to-3 frames Saturday. Once Hurter exits the game, right-hander Sawyer Gipson-Long is expected to work in bulk relief.

Arias went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Athletics.

Arias struck out multiple times for the sixth time over his last seven games (14 Ks in 22 at-bats). He's always had a tendency to swing and miss -- his 31.2 strikeout percentage in 2025 marks his third consecutive season over 30 percent -- but the versatile infielder has taken it new extremes in June. Arias is batting .185 (10-for-54) with 25 strikeouts (43.1 percent) through 16 contests this month.
