His leadoff single to open the game extended his hitting streak to eight games (14-for-36, .389) and an on-base streak to 12 contests (.426 OBP). Smith is expected to retain his role as the team's leadoff batter and primary designated hitter against right-handers.

Slater went 2-for-2 with a single, a double, an RBI, two walks and two runs scored during Friday's 7-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Slater collected multiple hits for the second straight game and now has five hits over his last four games after going hitless in eight games in a row previously. He's made just 69 plate appearances this season, but over that sample, the 32-year-old has a .771 OPS, which would be his best number over a full season since 2022.

The Rays selected Gervase's contract from Triple-A Durham on Saturday.

Gervase has spent the entire season in Triple-A, where he owns a 3.78 ERA and 0.94 WHIP through 33.1 innings, and his first appearance with the Rays will mark his MLB debut. Connor Seabold was optioned to Durham in a corresponding move.

Benintendi has been hot at the plate lately, and that continued into Friday. The 30-year-old homered for the second straight game and eighth time this season, extending his streak of multi-hit games to three. He is 6-for-14 with a triple, two home runs and six RBI over that stretch, bringing his season-long slash line up to .250/.311/.460.

Stanton isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus the Orioles.

Stanton is 5-for-15 through his first five games since returning from the IL, and he'll take a day to rest Saturday. His absence will move Aaron Judge to the DH spot while Jasson Dominguez, Trent Grisham and Cody Bellinger start across the outfield.

India went 3-for-5 with a double and a three-run home run in Friday's 6-5 win over the Padres.

His fifth-inning shot off Nick Pivetta gave the Royals a 4-0 lead. It was India's fourth homer of the season, and three of them have come in his last 15 games -- a stretch in which the 28-year-old super-utility player is slashing .279/.308/.475 with nine RBI and 10 runs despite suffering a partial shoulder dislocation a week ago.

LeMahieu isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles.

LeMahieu will get a chance to rest his legs after going 2-for-4 with a double during Friday's loss. Oswald Peraza will start at the keystone and bat ninth in LeMahieu's place.
