Barger was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox due to right hip discomfort, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Barger was initially slated to play right field and bat second Saturday, but a hip injury has forced a change of plans. He can be considered day-to-day going forward. Davis Schneider will enter the lineup and play left field while Nathan Lukes slides to right.

Teel isn't part of the starting nine for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

Teel and Edgar Quero have alternated starts behind the plate since June 11, and Saturday's contest happens to be Quero's turn to catch. Teel is slashing .241/.378/.276 across 37 plate appearances this season.

Tauchman (groin) isn't part of the starting nine for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

Tauchman will be on the bench for a second straight game after tweaking his right groin Thursday. The outfielder should still be considered day-to-day, but if he continues to miss time, an IL stint will be considered. For now, Austin Slater will fill right field and bat eighth.

Fitzgerald (ankle) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A St. Paul.

Fitzgerald was hitting just .159 with a .525 OPS in his last 12 games before the injury. He's hitting .283/.375/.462 with five home runs overall in 48 games at Triple-A.

Culpepper was promoted to Double-A Wichita after hitting .293/.385/.479 with nine home runs and 15 stolen bases in 54 games for High-A Cedar Rapids.

The 21st overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft has shown improved power and speed in his second professional season along with solid walk (19.8 percent) and strikeout (16.6 percent) rates. Culpepper has been developed as a shortstop so far by the Twins, but it's not clear if that will be his eventual defensive home in the majors with Carlos Correa under contract through at least 2028 and Brooks Lee waiting in the wings behind him.

Crawford (knee/wrist) threw a bullpen session Friday, MLB.com reports.

This was the second such session this week for Crawford, who's had multiple setbacks in attempting to go on a rehab assignment. It's unclear what the next steps are for the right-hander. The report estimates a return date in July or August.

The Tigers optioned Smith to Triple-A Toledo and recalled him Friday.

Smith served as Detroit's 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader versus Pittsburgh, appearing in relief and tossing two scoreless innings in the Tigers' 9-2 win in the first game of the day. Though he was expected to be returned to Toledo following the twin bill, Smith will instead stick around with Detroit after Keider Montero was optioned to Triple-A on Friday.

Canzone is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Canzone is on the bench for a third consecutive game, though Saturday's contest is the first of that stretch against a right-handed pitcher. The lefty-hitting outfielder had started in each of the Mariners' last six games against righties.

Bichette went 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI during Friday's 7-1 loss to the White Sox.

Bichette has reached base safely in five consecutive contests and has a couple of three-hit games to his name over that time as well. The 27-year-old is 9-for-21 (.429 batting average) with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI during his streak. His run-producing ability out of the leadoff spot has been valuable to the team; he has 43 RBI when hitting at the top of the order this year, second behind only Shohei Ohtani in MLB.

Rutschman (abdomen) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Rutschman was a late scratch from Friday's lineup due to abdominal tightness, and he'll sit out a second consecutive game while he continues to recover. Gary Sanchez will start behind the plate and bat seventh. Per Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com, Rutschman underwent an MRI on Saturday.
