Rasmussen (7-5) tallied the win Wednesday against the Royals, giving up no runs on two hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out five.

Wednesday marked the seventh scoreless start of the year for Rasmussen, who scattered two singles. The 29-year-old right-hander was somewhat curiously pulled after throwing just 62 pitches, his fewest of the season, but it appears the Rays are remaining cautious about his workload after he missed over a year of action across 2023 and 2024 due to elbow surgery. Rasmussen has yet to toss greater than six innings in any of his 16 outings, but he still owns an outstanding 2.45 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 72:20 K:BB across 84.1 frames. His next start is projected to come at home versus the Athletics.

Scherzer did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Guardians, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts over five innings.

Scherzer allowed a run in the first inning and two more in the fourth during his second start of the season, and first since March 29. He threw 55 of 83 pitches for strikes and generated seven whiffs in a solid return to the mound while continuing to manage thumb soreness. The 40-year-old owns a 5.63 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB through eight innings this season and lines up for a home matchup with the Yankees next week.

Flaherty (5-9) took the loss Wednesday against the A's, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

One pitch proved to be enough to stick Flaherty with the loss Wednesday -- he gave up a three-run homer to Nick Kurtz with two outs in the third inning that proved to be the difference in a 3-0 defeat. While it's the third straight loss for Flaherty, it's a step in the right direction for the right-hander after he'd given up 15 runs in just five innings over his previous two outings. Overall, Flaherty sports a 4.80 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and 100:35 K:BB across 16 starts (84.1 innings) this season. He's currently lined up to face the Nationals on the road his next time out.

Kurtz went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Tigers.

Kurtz accounted for all of the offense Wednesday with one swing, launching a 438-foot blast off Jack Flaherty in the third inning to put the A's ahead for good. The rookie first baseman now has six homers and 12 RBI in his last 10 contests. Overall, Kurtz is slashing .255/.313/.523 with 11 homers, 28 RBI and 19 runs scored through his first 166 major-league plate appearances.

Miller earned the save in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Tigers, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Miller made quick work of the heart of Detroit's batting order Wednesday, striking out Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson en route to his 15th save this season. It's been an up-and-down season thus far for Miller, though he's been sharp recently, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out eight in his last five appearances (5.1 innings). Overall, Miller sports a 4.85 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP and 49 strikeouts across 29.2 innings this year.

Lopez (2-4) earned the win Wednesday over the Tigers, allowing three hits and a walk across seven scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Lopez was excellent Wednesday, blanking a Detroit team that had scored 20 runs over their previous two games. Lopez has turned in three straight quality starts, allowing just one run while striking out 24 over 19 innings in that span. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.56 with a 1.30 WHIP and 55:17 K:BB through 43 innings this season. Lopez will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Tampa Bay.

Jung went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a third RBI in Wednesday's 7-0 victory over the Orioles.

Jung opened the scoring in the second inning with a two-out, RBI single before extending the lead to 3-0 with an opposite-field homer off Brandon Young, his eighth of the year. The 27-year-old Jung has gone 4-for-9 in his last two games following a rough 2-for-30 stretch. Overall, Jung is batting .246 with a .677 OPS, 34 RBI, 25 runs scored and four steals across 277 plate appearances this season.

DeGrom (8-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Orioles, allowing one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

DeGrom was nearly untouchable Wednesday -- he held the Orioles hitless through seven innings before Colton Cowser led off the eighth with a single. It's the fifth straight quality start for deGrom, who's gone 4-0 with a 1.41 ERA in that span (32 innings). His ERA is down to a sparkling 2.08 on the season with a 0.91 WHIP and 94:20 K:BB across 16 starts (95.1 innings). DeGrom will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled as a home rematch with Baltimore.

Adell went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Red Sox.

The 26-year-old extended his hitting streak to eight games and got the Angels on the board by taking Richard Fitts deep in the fourth inning. Adell has four homers during that eight-game stretch, and a stunning 10 long balls in 23 June contests -- a month in which he's batting .266 (21-for-79) with two steals, 16 runs and 17 RBI.

Zeferjahn walked one and struck out two over two scoreless innings Wednesday to record his second save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Red Sox.

Facing the team that traded him west last July, Zeferjahn needed 31 pitches (21 strikes) to lock down the two-inning save. Kenley Jansen pitched the night before while Reid Detmers had been called upon Monday and Tuesday, so the circle of trust in high-leverage spots for interim manager Ray Montgomery appears to be small. Through 9.2 innings in June, Zeferjahn has posted a 2.79 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB while piling up two wins, six holds and a save in 10 appearances.
