The Rangers reinstated Pederson (hand) from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He'll start at designated hitter and bat fifth against Atlanta.

Texas optioned Michael Helman to Triple-A Round Rock to clear room on the 26-man roster for Pederson, who missed two months while recovering from a fractured right hand. Though he made one of his two rehab starts at first base, he's expected to be Texas' primary DH. Prior to the injury, Pederson had gotten off to a slow start to his first season with the Rangers, slashing just .131/.269/.238 over 145 plate appearances. On a positive note, Pederson had been striking out at a career-low 19.3 percent.

The Tigers optioned Sweeney to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

Sweeney will give up his spot to Kerry Carpenter (hamstring), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. After being called up from Toledo on July 2, Sweeney mainly served as a bench player for Detroit, appearing in 14 games while going 2-for-24 at the dish. He should play on an everyday basis at Triple-A.

The Tigers reinstated Carpenter (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He'll start in right field and bat third in the Tigers' series finale with the Blue Jays.

Infielder Trey Sweeney was optioned to Triple-A Toledo to make room on the 26-man active roster for Carpenter, who has been on the shelf since June 29 due to a right hamstring strain. Between the corner-outfield and designated-hitter spots, Carpenter should be a regular presence in the Detroit lineup against right-handed pitching.

Wilson has been playing through a bruised hand and is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The rookie shortstop has apparently been playing through the injury for a couple weeks after he was hit by a pitch prior to the All-Star break. The issue doesn't seem to be a serious concern, but Wilson will receive a day off Sunday while he's in the midst of a 3-for-29 slump. Max Schuemann will draw the start at shortstop for the Athletics.

Urias will start at third base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Urias will stick in the starting nine for the fifth time in six games, going 5-for-18 with three doubles, three walks, one RBI and one run to begin the second half of the season. Four of those five starts have come against left-handed pitching, so Urias may still be viewed as more of a part-time player against righties.

Cowser is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Cowser will take a seat along with Jackson Holliday and Ryan O'Hearn while the Orioles face off against southpaw Austin Gomber. Dylan Carlson will start in left field in place of Cowser, who went 1-for-3 with two walks, one stolen base and three runs in Saturday's 18-0 romp.

Holliday is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

With the Orioles concluding their series against Colorado for a day game after a night game and with a southpaw (Austin Gomber) on the hill for the Rockies, the left-handed-hitting Holliday will get a breather. Jordan Westburg will fill in at second base in place of Holliday, who went 2-for-6 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot in Saturday's 18-0 win.

Stallings is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Stallings will rest Sunday after he went 1-for-5 with a run and an RBI while catching all nine innings of Saturday's 18-0 win. Alex Jackson will get the nod behind the plate in the series finale.

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

O'Hearn will hit the bench for the third time in four games while the Orioles face off against another lefty starter in Austin Gomber. O'Hearn is slashing just .212/.317/.269 in 60 plate appearances versus southpaws on the season and looks to have moved into a pure platoon role.

Anthony went 2-for-2 with two walks, a double and an RBI in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Dodgers.

Anthony gave Boston an insurance run with an RBI double in the fifth inning. He's reached base safely in 17 of the last 18 games, going 21-for-62 (.339) with 12 walks (.461 OBP) during that stretch. It took the prospect a while to acclimate to the majors -- he batted .114 over his 14 games -- but Anthony has slashed .341/.431/.500 over his last 24 contests.
