Fried (3-1) notched the win Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing no runs on three hits and two walks in eight innings. He struck out nine.

The All-Star southpaw had his entire arsenal working in a gem, fanning a season-high nine in his third scoreless start of the campaign. Fried has done an outstanding job of providing length for the Yankees to begin 2026, working at least 6.1 frames in all but one of his first five starts thus far. Fried boasts a 2.40 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB over 41.1 innings, and he next sets up to face a Rangers team that's struggled against southpaws to the tune of a .582 OPS versus left-handing pitching this season.

Suarez (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

The Yankees ambushed Suarez for three runs in the opening frame, but the hurler was at least able to settle in and hold New York to just one run over his next 3.2 innings of work. Suarez has been a boom-or-bust fantasy play so far, tossing at least six scoreless innings in two starts while giving up four runs in fewer than five frames in his other three outings. The southpaw will be searching for some consistency his next time out in Toronto, where he'll carry a 4.00 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB through 27 frames.

Mize (2-1) earned the win Wednesday against the Brewers, allowing one run on three hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out seven.

Mize was outstanding Wednesday, scattering three singles over six strong frames. Not only is the right-hander already up to three quality starts in 2026, but he's also worked at least 5.2 innings while giving up one or no runs in four of his five outings to begin the season. Mize is pushing his way into must-roster fantasy territory, producing an impressive 2.51 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB over 28.2 frames, but he does have a tough test in Atlanta on tap for his next start.

Schanuel went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, an additional run scored and four total RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Schanuel led off the fourth inning with his third home run of the season before putting the Angels ahead for good in the seventh with a two-out, three-run double. The first baseman has gone 8-for-22 (.364) with seven RBI and four runs over his last six games. Overall, Schanuel is slashing .239/.308/.380 with 18 RBI and eight runs scored across 104 plate appearances this season.

Jansen worked around a hit and two walks to pitch a scoreless inning and secure the save in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Brewers. He struck out one.

Jansen was probably fortunate to have a three-run lead, as he got some traffic on the bases in the ninth inning but ultimately shut things down for his sixth save of the year in seven chances. The veteran reliever has a sparkling 1.35 ERA and has struck out eight batters across 6.2 innings so far. Even at the age of 38, Jansen continues to look like an effective MLB closer, and the Tigers seem comfortable with him in that role moving forward.

Carpenter went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Brewers.

Carpenter launched his fifth home run of the season in the eighth inning, and he's starting to heat up after a slow start to the year. The 28-year-old has three long balls across his last eight games, and he's batting .263 during that stretch. Carpenter was hitting just .200 with two home runs in 14 games before the recent power surge. He clubbed a career-high 26 homers during the 2025 regular season, and the outfielder remains a great offensive threat against right-handed pitching.

Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Brewers.

Torkelson finally hit his first home run of the year in his 24th game, taking Chad Patrick deep in the fourth inning with a runner on. The slugger had 31 long balls during the 2025 regular season, so he'll need to really heat up to get back on last year's pace. It's been a struggle for Torkelson overall, as he's only batting .189 with a .603 OPS, but his ability to hit homers in bunches should keep his bat in the lineup as he works through the slow start.

Gilbert did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the A's, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

While Gilbert was ultimately able to limit the damage after giving up two runs in the first inning, the right-hander needed 89 pitches to record just 12 outs, as he failed to complete five frames for the first time this year. Through six starts this season, Gilbert sports a 4.36 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB across 33 innings. He'll look to turn things around in his next outing, tentatively lined up for next week in Minnesota.

Manoah (finger) tossed four simulated innings to hitters Tuesday and is nearing a minor-league rehab assignment, per MLB.com.

Manoah's right middle fingernail fell off after a spring start in mid-March, and he began throwing bullpens in early April. He's since progressed to facing hitters and could kick off a rehab stint within the next week. Manoah struggled mightily during the Cactus League slate, so he may need to pitch well during his rehab assignment to get a chance to start with the big-league club in the near future.

Civale didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Mariners, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk across 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

After allowing just three runs across his first three starts (15.2 innings) this season, Civale has now given up eight runs over 10 frames in his last two outings. His ERA now sits at 3.86 with a 1.32 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB across 26 innings. The 30-year-old Civale will look to recapture his early season success in his next start, tentatively scheduled to come at home against the Royals.
