Orioles' Trey Gibson: Tapped for start Sunday

Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said that Gibson will be called up from Triple-A Norfolk to start Sunday's game against the Yankees in New York, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The 23-year-old ranks as one of the top pitching prospects in Baltimore's system and has posted a 4.01 ERA and 1.65 WHIP through 24.2 innings (six starts) with Triple-A Norfolk this season. The Orioles don't have an opening in their rotation past Sunday and could get Trevor Rogers (illness) back from the injured list in mid-May, so Gibson will likely return to Triple-A after making his MLB debut.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Idle Saturday

Narvaez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Narvaez will get a chance to rest Saturday after going 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's win. Connor Wong will take over behind the plate and bat eighth.

  • Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: Resting Saturday

Heineman isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Minnesota.

After starting the season with a .188 batting average and .423 OPS through 20 games, Heineman will take a seat on the bench for the third time in Toronto's last four games while Brandon Valenzuela starts at catcher.

  • Trey Gibson SP | BAL

Orioles' Trey Gibson: Joins taxi squad

Gibson joined the Orioles' taxi squad Saturday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The Orioles haven't announced a starter for Sunday's series finale against the Yankees, and Gibson joining the big club in the Bronx on Saturday is a sign that he'll end up getting the nod to make his MLB debut. The 23-year-old righty has made six starts this season at Triple-A Norfolk and owns a 4.01 ERA and 1.65 WHIP as well as a 25:12 K:BB through 24.2 innings.

  • Matt Strahm RP | KC

Royals' Matt Strahm: Tallies eighth hold

Strahm allowed no hits and a walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning in Friday's win against the Mariners.

Strahm entered with a one-run lead in the eighth inning and worked a clean frame to record his eighth hold of the season. The southpaw has logged nine scoreless outings across 12 appearances in 2026. Across 11.2 innings, the 34-year-old owns a 3.86 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with a 14:6 K:BB and has served as one of the Royals' top high-leverage arms, though the ninth inning has belonged to Lucas Erceg while Carlos Estevez (foot) has been sidelined.

  • Tyler Wells SP | BAL

Orioles' Tyler Wells: Optioned to Norfolk

The Orioles optioned Wells to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Wells owns a 3.44 ERA and 1.20 WHIP through 18.1 innings this season, but the O's will send him to the minors as they make room on the active roster for Dietrich Enns' (foot) return from the injured list and Nick Raquet's promotion from Triple-A. Wells will likely be welcomed back to Baltimore's bullpen when the team needs a fresh arm.

  • Nick Raquet P | BAL

Orioles' Nick Raquet: Back in majors

The Orioles recalled Raquet from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Raquet surrendered three earned runs over 1.2 innings during his first stint with the O's this year but has since fired 5.2 shutout innings at Norfolk. He'll now get a chance to redeem himself in the big leagues while replacing Albert Suarez, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Dietrich Enns RP | BAL

Orioles' Dietrich Enns: Back from IL

The Orioles reinstated Enns (foot) from the injured list Saturday.

Enns made five rehab appearances in Triple-A after landing on the injured list with a foot infection, allowing four earned runs on five hits and no walks while striking out 10 batters over 6.1 innings. He'll presumably claim a middle-relief role in Baltimore's bullpen now that he's healthy, and the Orioles will send Tyler Wells to the minors to make room for Enns on the active roster.

  • Brooks Lee SS | MIN

Twins' Brooks Lee: Scores two runs Friday

Lee went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Lee has multiple hits in four of his last eight games and is now slashing .252/.313/.417 with five home runs, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored, two stolen bases and an 8:21 BB:K across 112 trips to the plate this season. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2022 draft is still batting near the bottom of the lineup.

  • Austin Martin LF | MIN

Twins' Austin Martin: Three more singles Friday

Martin went 3-for-5 with three singles in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Martin is slashing .333/.484/.435 across 91 trips to the plate this season, but 18 of his 23 hits have been singles, as he's produced one home run, seven RBI, 11 runs scored, four stolen bases and a 19:13 BB:K. Martin has been a good source of batting average and on-base percentage, but he's not doing much else. He's also been caught stealing an MLB-high four times. Martin should continue to see regular playing time with his hot bat and good eye at the dish.
