  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Extends hitting streak to 12 games

Guerrero went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored during the Blue Jays' 4-2 win over the Angels on Tuesday.

Guerrero extended his hitting streak to 12 games with his infield single in the sixth inning, and he was brought home both times he reached base during Tuesday's contest. During this 12-game hitting streak, Guerrero has gone 21-for-47 (.447) with one steal, one home run, eight RBI and 10 runs scored.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Drives in two runs as pinch hitter

Sosa went 1-for-1 with a two-run double during the Blue Jays' 4-2 win over the Angels on Tuesday.

Sosa pinch hit for Jesus Sanchez in the eighth inning and made the most of his opportunity by smacking a two-run double off Drew Pomeranz to put the Blue Jays up 3-1. Since being acquired from the White Sox on April 13, Sosa has gone 4-for-14 (.286) with two doubles and four RBI, and he has given his new team a solid boost at the plate in the absences of both George Springer (toe) and Addison Barger (ankles).

  • Byron Buxton DH | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Goes deep Tuesday

Buxton went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Mets.

Buxton provided the breakthrough swing in the sixth inning, taking Nolan McLean deep for a two-run homer after the right-hander held Minnesota hitless through five frames. The blast continues a strong stretch of power, as Buxton has now homered four times over his last seven games while going 10-for-31 (.323) during that span. However, he also struck out three times Tuesday and remains on pace for a fifth straight season with a strikeout rate above 25 percent. Buxton is now slashing .233/.295/.430 with three doubles and 18 runs scored across 95 plate appearances.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

Blue Jays' Eloy Jimenez: Drives in two runs Tuesday

Jimenez went 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBI during the Blue Jays' 4-2 win over the Angels on Tuesday.

Jimenez got the Blue Jays on the board with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning before extending the team's lead to 4-1 with an RBI single in the eighth. He has helped filled in admirably in the absence of Addison Barger (ankles) and George Springer (toe). Since being recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on April 12, Jimenez has gone 8-for-21 (.381) with two RBI.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Patrick Corbin: Yields just one run in no-decision

Corbin did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out three across five innings.

Corbin generated just three whiffs among his 65 pitches (40 strikes), with his lone blemish coming on a Vaughn Grissom sacrifice fly in the fifth. After giving up four runs in his 2026 debut against the Twins on April 10, Corbin has yielded just two runs over his last two outings and sits at a 3.68 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 14.2 innings. The veteran southpaw has filled in admirably in the Blue Jays' rotation in the absence of Trey Yesavage (shoulder), Jose Berrios (elbow), Cody Ponce (knee) and Shane Bieber (elbow), but Tuesday may have been Corbin's last turn in the rotation for now, assuming Yesavage is cleared to come off the 15-day injured list ahead of next week's home series against the Red Sox.

  • Jeff Hoffman RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Jeff Hoffman: Nearly blows game for Toronto

Hoffman hit two batters and allowed one run on two hits while striking out a batter during the Blue Jays' 4-2 win over the Angels on Tuesday.

Hoffman got the call to protect the Blue Jays' 4-1 lead in the ninth. He started the inning strongly by striking out Zach Neto, but the right-hander's night quickly turned for the worse. Hoffman yielded a single to Mike Trout before hitting the next two batters he faced. Blue Jays manager John Schneider saw enough after his closer gave up an RBI single to Yoan Moncada, turning to Louis Varland to close things out -- which he did on just one pitch that produced a double play. Hoffman wasn't charged with a blown save, but the fact he was pulled from a high-leverage situation is not a good sign for his job security as Toronto's closer. He sits at a 7.59 ERA, 2.06 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB across 10.2 innings.

  • Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Allows three runs in no-decision

Woods Richardson did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Mets, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two over five innings.

A single swing accounted for all of the right-hander's damage Tuesday, as a Francisco Lindor three-run homer in the third inning gave New York the initial lead. The outing was a slight step in the right direction for Woods Richardson after he had allowed 16 hits and 12 runs combined over his previous two starts. Even so, his overall numbers remain elevated, as he now owns a 5.96 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 13:10 K:BB across 25.2 innings. Woods Richardson will seek to pick up his first win of the season in his next scheduled start against Tampa Bay.

  • Louie Varland SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Louis Varland: Saves Toronto after Hoffman's dud

Varland collected the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Angels, needing just one pitch to collect the final two outs of the ninth inning.

Jeff Hoffman got the call to protect the team's 4-1 lead in the ninth. However, Hoffman's control was all over the place, as he hit two batters and gave up two hits, allowing one run while recording just one out. That prompted Blue Jays manager John Schneider to quickly turn to Varland to get out of a bases-loaded jam, and the right-hander saved the day on just one pitch by getting Nolan Schanuel to ground out into a double play. It was the first save of Varland's career, and the 28-year-old has yet to give up an earned run across 12.2 innings this season. It appears Hoffman's grip on the Blue Jays' closing job is slipping.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

    Rangers' Joc Pederson: Average climbing

Pederson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Pittsburgh.

Pederson, who opened the season hitless over his first 16 at-bats, has seen his average slowly climb since. He's hit safely in 10 of the subsequent 15 games, going 12-for-37 (.324) to raise his season average to .235. Despite the hitting surge, it hasn't improved Pederson's run production. He has just two extra-base hits and three RBI over 21 games.

  • Jack Anderson RP | BOS

Red Sox's Jack Anderson: Heading back to Worcester

The Red Sox will option Anderson to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.

Anderson has made three appearances since being called up from Worcester on April 14, giving up three earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out six batters over eight innings. Despite his encouraging performance, he'll be sent back to the minors in favor of Eduardo Rivera, who will presumably replace Anderson as a long-relief option.
