Rocchio went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 8-6 win over the Athletics.

Rocchio's last three hits have gone for doubles, and the shortstop has produced offensively since the Guardians snapped a 10-game losing streak. Over the last eight contests, Rocchio has gone 9-for-27 (.333) with six doubles, a home run and six RBI. He opened the season as Cleveland's primary shortstop and is getting a second chance at the position with Gabriel Arias (ankle) on the injured list. Arias began a rehab assignment Friday and should return soon, but he's not a lock to reclaim the position. Guardians shortstops rank last in average (.193) and on-base percentage (.259) and 28th in OPS (.552)

Arias (ankle) started at shortstop and went 0-for-2 for Triple-A Columbus on Friday.

Arias played five innings before being replaced in the field. He's been out of action since June 30 and shouldn't need too long before rejoining the Guardians.

Perdomo batted second in the order and went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in Friday's 7-3 win over St. Louis.

Perdomo tripled in the first inning but was stranded there, and he then singled in a pair of runs in Arizona's three-run second inning. He took the second spot in the batting order against a right-hander, which typically is the domain of Ketel Marte, but Marte was placed on the restricted list to deal with a burglary at his home in Phoenix. Perdomo spent one game batting ninth just before the break, but that may have been a one-game decision. He's spent most of the last month in the upper third.

Winn went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Winn has swiped a bag in each of his last two games after going 18 contests without attempting a steal. The shortstop has warmed up with the bat with a trio of multi-hit efforts across his last six games, going 8-for-25 (.320) in that span. On the season, he's been just fine without standing out, slashing .258/.319/.380 with seven home runs, six steals, 32 RBI, 56 runs scored and 19 doubles over 86 games.

Seager went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 2-0 win over Detroit.

Friday marked Seager's third multi-RBI outing in 13 games to open the month of July. The star shortstop endured a miserable June -- he hit just .188 while slugging .353 last month -- but he's returned to the form fantasy managers have grown accustomed to seeing since then. Through 48 at-bats in July, Seager is hitting .354 with three home runs, six doubles and nine RBI.

The Rangers selected Freeman's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Freeman has spent all season in Triple-A, where he owns a .315/.367/.494 slash line alongside 12 homers, 54 RBI, 60 runs scored and eight steals through 79 games. The 24-year-old has spent most of his time this year at third base, but he also has experience at second, shortstop and catcher. He'll presumably serve as bench depth while Sam Haggerty (ankle) is on the IL.

Arias (ankle) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment Friday with Triple-A Columbus, SI.com reports.

Arias has been on the shelf since July 1 with a sprained left ankle, but after making significant progress leading up to the All-Star break, he's been cleared to begin a rehab assignment. The 25-year-old should be back in Cleveland before the calendar flips to August.

Tovar (oblique) was activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's game against the Twins.

Tovar, who also missed time with a hip injury earlier this year, hit .120 with zero extra-base hits, zero walks and six strikeouts in six rehab games in the Pacific Coast League. While he struggled on his rehab assignment and hasn't gotten going at the plate in the majors either (.708 OPS, three homers in 32 games), Tovar is set for three games in Coors Field this weekend, so he's a solid option in most formats.

Abrams (shoulder) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Friday against the Padres, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

The 24-year-old was scratched from the lineup for the final game of the first half last Sunday due to shoulder soreness, but he's good to go coming out of the All-Star break. Through 82 games this season, Abrams is on pace for a career campaign with 12 homers, 20 steals and a .287/.353/.483 slash line.

Kim (foot) is batting eighth and playing shortstop Friday against Baltimore.

Kim fouled a ball off his left foot Sunday and was removed from the contest. However, X-rays came back clean, and he's been cleared to play in Tampa Bay's first game post-All-Star break. He's 5-for-22 (.227) in 2025.
