  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Sitting against lefty

Wendle is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Blue Jays.

Jacob Amaya will cover shortstop and bat ninth with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi toeing the slab for Toronto. The left-handed-hitting Wendle has drawn only eight plate appearances versus southpaws this year.

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Hits homer, steals bag in loss

Witt went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Tigers.

Witt hit a home run and stole a base in the same game for the third time this year. It was the 23-year-old's sixth multi-hit outing of June, and he's slashing .323/.373/.452 during that 16-game stretch. His overall slash line (.248/.289/.434) could still use some work, but Witt has 12 home runs and 22 stolen bases through 71 games (308 plate appearances), giving him a formidable and well-rounded fantasy ceiling.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Back in action at Triple-A

Mauricio (ankle) returned to the Triple-A Syracuse lineup Wednesday and has appeared in each of the affiliate's last five games, going 8-for-21 with three home runs, three walks, six RBI, four runs and two stolen bases during that stretch.

Mauricio had been tending to a bone bruise in his left ankle coming out of a June 10 doubleheader, but he missed only a few days before he was cleared to resume playing. The 22-year-old switch-hitting middle infielder has immediately resumed raking at Syracuse and is now holding down a .325/.368/.546 slash line across 291 plate appearances this season. In addition to seeing time at both second base and shortstop, Mauricio has also picked up three starts in left field, giving him another potential pathway to playing time when the Mets likely bring him up to the big leagues at some point later this summer.

  • Pablo Reyes RF | SD

Red Sox's Pablo Reyes: Hitting well in everyday role

Reyes went 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored in Monday's 9-3 win over Minnesota.

Reyes started at shortstop for the fifth time in the last six games -- the lone non-start was in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader -- and continued hitting well. He's gone 7-for-17 with one double, three RBI and five runs scored since becoming the primary shortstop. Red Sox manager Alex Cora noted to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com that he does not view Reyes as an everyday player, which suggests he's keeping the position warm until Yu Chang (wrist) is ready to be activated from the injured list.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Will lead off for time being

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Perdomo will remain the leadoff batter "for a little while," Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports. "I want to stay with it and we'll see how it goes. We're just looking for somebody to see pitches and hand it off to the next group of guys."

Perdomo batted leadoff for the third straight game in Monday's win over the Brewers and the fourth time in the past six games. It's unclear if Lovullo plans to have Perdomo rest atop the order against both lefties and righties, as the switch-hitting infielder has often sat out against southpaws. The one time Perdomo batted leadoff against a lefty was when he started at second base for a resting Ketel Marte, who has been the primary leadoff batter against southpaws. Additionally, the Diamondbacks have some desire to maintain a role for Nick Ahmed, who normally starts at shortstop against lefties.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Knocks in five runs Monday

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two total runs and five total RBI in Monday's 11-1 rout of the Astros.

Lindor had two big hits in the contest, belting a three-run homer to right field in the third inning and knocking a two-run double in the ninth. The five RBI were the second most he has notched this season, trailing just his seven-RBI performance against Oakland in mid-April. Lindor has homered in two straight contests following a rough six-game stretch during which he went 1-for-17 with six strikeouts.

  • Giants' Casey Schmitt: Unavailable Monday

Schmitt (arm) is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Schmitt exited Sunday's victory over the Dodgers early after he was hit by a pitch and will now be forced to miss at least one contest. The team got good news Sunday night when the 24-year-old's X-rays didn't reveal any structural damage, so he is considered day-to-day for the time being. Brandon Crawford will draw the start at shortstop and bat seventh in the series opener with San Diego on Monday.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: 'Reports are good' on shoulder

White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Monday that "reports are good" on Anderson (shoulder) and he remains day-to-day, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Anderson is missing a second straight start Monday due to right shoulder soreness. However, it sounds like he has a pretty good chance to avoid the injured list. "He's actually OK," Grifol said. "He's day to day, reports were good. He's still a little sore. So I'll check with him after the game, after the round of treatments, see what we'll do tomorrow. Reports are good and he's day to day. It's not too bad."

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Remains out of lineup

Anderson (shoulder) is out of the lineup Monday versus the Rangers.

Anderson will miss a second game in a row as he deals with right shoulder soreness. Elvis Andrus will draw another start at shortstop while Zach Remillard takes over at second base and bats ninth in the series opener with Texas.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Goes on paternity leave

The Rockies placed Tovar (personal) on the paternity list Monday.

Tovar was removed late in Sunday's 14-6 loss to Atlanta after receiving word that his wife went into labor, so his move to the paternity list comes as little surprise. Expect the rookie shortstop to miss the entirety of the Rockies' three-game series in Cincinnati to open the week before likely rejoining the team Friday for the start of a homestand. Colorado called up infielder Connor Kaiser from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace Tovar on the 26-man active roster.
