Cruz went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Angels.

Cruz provided the majority of Pittsburgh's offense by delivering a double with the bases loaded in the fifth inning. He's had a productive start to Pittsburgh's homestead, collecting six hits in 18 at-bats while also homering twice and driving in seven. Even more important is that he has struck out only four times in that span, a significantly decreased rate from his 34.7 percent clip this season.

Newman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Reds.

Newman will retreat to the bench after he started each of the past three games at shortstop while going 3-for-12 with a run scored. Blaze Alexander will spell Newman at shortstop in the series finale.

Correa is out of the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Mariners.

Correa is getting a routine day off after he had started in all nine games for the Twins since he returned from the injured list April 29. Willi Castro will step in at shortstop in place of Correa, who popped a solo home run -- his second of the season -- in Wednesday's 6-3 win.

Arcia went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer in Wednesday's win over Boston.

The 29-year-old took Nick Pivetta deep in his first at-bat, going back-to-back with Marcell Ozuna as Atlanta jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Arcia then followed up another Ozuna home run with a double in the third but was left stranded. It marked the shortstop's 11th multi-hit performance of the season, though his previous one came back on April 26. He's also hit safely in four of his last five contests.

Pena went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 9-4 loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.

Pena had been in a small funk coming into the contest, going 2-for-14 over his previous four games. He bounced back Wednesday with his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign, which included his first long ball in May. Pena has been a pleasant surprise for Houston this season, slashing .326/.367/.464 with four homers, 14 RBI, 21 runs and five stolen bases through 147 plate appearances.

DeJong went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run in Wednesday's 4-1 victory versus the Rays.

DeJong accounted for half of Chicago's runs with his two-run blast to left field in the fifth inning. It was the second straight contest with a long ball for the veteran shortstop following a 16-game homerless drought. DeJong has multiple hits in three of his past four games and has gone 6-for-15 with four RBI, five runs and four extra-base hits over that stretch.

Henderson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Wednesday in a 7-6 extra-innings win over Washington.

Henderson gave Baltimore its first lead with a solo shot in the sixth inning. That snapped a seven-game stretch without a long ball for the shortstop, which was his longest homerless span of the campaign. Henderson is tied for second in the majors with 11 home runs on the season, and he's added 25 RBI, 28 runs, six stolen bases and a .271/.344/.563 slash line through 36 games.

Gonzalez started at first base and went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 5-0 loss to Atlanta.

Gonzalez was activated off the injured list Wednesday and was in the starting lineup against left-hander Chris Sale. It was Gonzalez's first career start at first base. The versatile infielder is expected to see significant playing time against southpaws, and the Red Sox will see two lefties in the upcoming three-game set against Washington. Boston manager Alex Cora told Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe that Gonzalez swings the bat well and feels he can lengthen the lineup from the seventh spot in the order. Nos. 7-9 in Boston's lineup were batting just .209 entering Wednesday's game.

Castro went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI during Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

The 27-year-old hit a solo shot off George Kirby in the second inning to break an 0-for-11 stretch at the plate, and Castro's RBI triple in the fourth gave the Twins some extra insurance, making it a 4-1 ballgame. Castro is now slashing .346/.370/.692 with three RBI and three stolen bases across his last seven games.

Witt went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two additional runs scored during Wednesday's 6-4 win over Milwaukee.

Witt collected his fifth long ball of the campaign Wednesday, tagging Joel Payamps for a long ball to lead off the eighth inning. Witt also notched a double in the first inning and was brought in on a Michael Massey sacrifice fly. Witt has logged multiple hits in five of his last eight games with 12 runs scored and a .423 batting average during that stretch.
