Ahmed won't require surgery to repair his fractured right wrist and remains optimistic that he'll be able to return from the 60-day disabled list during a potential postseason run, Jarrid Denney of MLB.com reports. "Hopefully I can come off the DL and come back and help the team," Ahmed said Tuesday. "Hopefully we'll be playing in the playoffs and I can come back and help at that point."

Ahmed has been on the disabled list since late June after he first broke his right hand when he was struck by a 99 mile-per-hour fastball from the Cardinals' Trevor Rosenthal. After an arduous two-month recovery, Ahmed was on track to rejoin the Diamondbacks this week before he was struck by a pitch in the same hand again last Sunday, in what would have been his final rehab game with Triple-A Reno. Fortunately for the shortstop, his latest fracture isn't deemed quite as serious, but he'll still face a six-to-eight-week recovery timeline, putting him on track for a mid-October return at the earliest. With Ahmed out of the picture, Adam Rosales looks secure in his role as the Diamondbacks' top utility infielder for the final month of the regular season.

Bogaerts continues to play through an injured right hand, an injury he sustained back on July 6 at Tampa Bay, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.

Bogaerts sat for one day after the Rays' Jacob Faria plunked him on the right hand. That day has served as fulcrum for Bogaerts' season. He was hitting .308 with an .818 OPS before being hit by pitch; since then, the shortstop has batted just .206 with a .589 OPS. Most recently, he's experienced soreness in his right wrist, which may be a result of changes he made in his swing due to the hand. Bogaerts acknowledged the pain in his right hand has led to changes in mechanics, something that is expected to be with him for the rest of the season.

Pennington started at short and went 2-for-4 with his first career grand slam in Wednesday's 10-8 win over Oakland.

Pennington's heroic blast capped off a five-run comeback in the seventh inning over the Angels' division foe. It was just the 33-year-old's third homer of the season, so fantasy owners shouldn't overreact to his big night at the plate. Pennington was relieving Andrelton Simmons at short, but the majority of his playing time comes at the keystone against left-handed starters.

Crawford could make his major-league debut Tuesday, Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley's season will come to an end Monday, which makes Tuesday the likely day Crawford joins the Phillies. He has recently started playing second and third base in order to increase his versatility. That could help him earn up to three-to-four starts per week in September if manager Pete Mackanin is willing to sit his starters more frequently. Crawford had a terrible start to his season, but has turned things around since July 1, hitting .276/.377/.529 with 12 home runs in 210 at-bats.

Adrianza went 3-for-4 with a pair of triples, four RBI and two runs against the White Sox on Wednesday.

When you get that kind of production out of your ninth-place hitter, you know it's going to be a good day. Amazingly, Adrianza tripled his career total of triples in this game, as he'd hit just one in his first 203 MLB contests. Write this one off as a fluky big game from a light-hitting and little-used utility infielder.

Baez went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI, a pair of steals -- including one of home plate -- and three runs in Wednesday's 17-3 blowout win over the Pirates.

With the Cubs down 2-1 in the second inning, Baez created a run with his legs -- first reaching on an error, then stealing second and moving to third on another error, and finally taking a massive lead and then bolting for home when Pirates catcher Chris Stewart threw to third base. The Cubs ended up opening the floodgates, relegating Baez's heroics to a footnote, but his fantasy owners have to be feeling appreciative. After all, he's delivered a terrific August, hitting .291 with seven homers, five steals, 24 RBI and 21 runs through 27 games.

Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Blue Jays.

The steals were his first since Aug. 8, but Bogaerts has now tied his career high (set last year) with 13 on the season. The 24-year-old has mostly had a disappointing year from a fantasy perspective, though, seeing his batting average, run production and OPS all drop from his breakout 2016.

Correa (thumb) will play in rehab games Thursday and Friday for Double-A Corpus Christi before potentially returning to the Astros' lineup Sunday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

He is scheduled to play in a rehab game with Triple-A Fresno on Wednesday, and will then head to Frisco to join up with the Hooks. If all goes well, he will be evaluated Saturday before a potential activation for the series finale against the Mets.

Arcia is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Arcia will retreat to the bench following five straight starts, going just 2-for-17 (.118 average) at the plate during that span. In his place, Eric Sogard draws the start at shortstop while leading off.

DeJong went 2-for-5 with a walk, three RBI and two runs against the Brewers on Tuesday.

All he's been doing is racking up stats. He endured a brief skid in late July and the first couple days of August, but DeJong emerged from it in impressive fashion -- over his last 23 games, he's gone 35-for-100 with six homers, 20 RBI and 15 runs. Even though he still strikes out too often and walks like Tuesday's are blessed rarities for the rookie, he's been a tremendous cross-category fantasy asset since taking over the shortstop job in St. Louis.
