Manager Andy Green said that Cordoba is "not getting better at all" and that the concussion "does not look like it's resolving any time soon," Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cordoba is still experiencing symptoms stemming from the concussion he suffered in an automobile accident in Panama on Feb. 7. Green stated that the 22-year-old was finally cleared to walk outside last week, but it "did not go well" and that he's "back to square one, and square one is minimal activity." This lack of progress is "unusual but not unheard of" while dealing with a concussion from an accident, according to Dr. Vernon Williams, a prominent neurologist that Acee cited in the story. The fact that he is still experiencing sensitivity to light makes it difficult for the club to provide any sort of timetable, so it doesn't appear as though he will be back on the field anytime in the near future. Expect another update on his status in the coming weeks.

Turner (toe) will man shortstop and bat second Wednesday in the Nationals' Grapefruit League game against the Astros, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.

Turner was held out of action the past three days after experiencing an ingrown toenail, but the Nationals never expressed much concern over the injury. With outfielder Adam Eaton having recently resumed playing in Grapefruit League games and set to serve as the Nationals' leadoff hitter when the season opens, Turner will spend the remainder of the spring getting acclimated to manning the two hole on a full-time basis.

Turner is still dealing with an ingrown toenail but is expected to be back in the lineup Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

The issue remains minor and should not affect Turner on Opening Day. The young shortstop is having a solid spring so far, hitting .324/.425/.353 in 14 games.

Cecchini was optioned to the Mets' minor-league camp Tuesday.

Cecchini was never likely to break camp with the Mets, who have Amed Rosario, Asdrubal Cabrera, Wilmer Flores and Jose Reyes as middle infielders in front of him. He'll return to Triple-A Las Vegas, where he's sat for most of the last two years, and wait for an injury. He hit .267/.329/.380 with just six home runs in 110 games at that level last season, so he doesn't look like he'll be much of a fantasy asset when he does eventually make it back to the big leagues.

Wendle, who's hitting .353 over 38 spring plate appearances, continues to push for a left-handed platoon role at second base with his consistency at the plate, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.

Already a proven performer at the Triple-A level for multiple seasons while with the Athletics organization, Wendle was a December acquisition that flew somewhat under the radar, but that had the air of a possible steal for the Rays. Wendle's resume includes 58 home runs and 327 RBI over a 641-game minor-league career, and he's been able to produce with both the bat and glove at every stop that he's spent an appreciable amount of time in. That's carried over to his first spring in Tampa, where manager Kevin Cash has taken note of how well-rounded and consistent the 27-year-old's game is. "I think our guys got it right when we acquired him," Cash said. "They said he's a very consistent player, solid defender, and gets his hits. He's quietly had a pretty good spring at the plate. Seems like he's getting a hit a day. Just very steady. And sometimes you don't want to see surprising, you just want to see consistency, and that's what he's shown."

D'Arnaud was assigned to minor-league camp Monday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

D'Arnaud figures to open the year at Triple-A Sacramento, although his defensive versatility makes him an appealing reserve option for San Francisco. However, unless injuries become an issue, it's unlikely that d'Arnaud will see regular playing time with the Giants. Over 18 Cactus League games, d'Arnaud went 9-for-32 (.281) and stole five bases.

Velazquez is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Velazquez has been out since Tuesday after getting hit in the head by a pitch. The 23-year-old has yet to reach Triple-A and hit .235/.297/.374 in 414 plate appearances for Double-A Montgomery last year.

Bogaerts is Boston's likely No. 5 hitter to start the season, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The hope was that Bogaerts would get to join Mookie Betts, Andrew Benintendi and J.D. Martinez in the top four of Boston's lineup, but Hanley Ramirez is expected to open the season as the team's No. 3 hitter, pushing Bogaerts down to fifth in the order. While this obviously would result in slightly fewer plate appearances, fewer runs and possibly a bump in RBI, a lot can change over the coming weeks/months, and it would not be surprising if Bogaerts earned a higher spot in the lineup as the season goes on. He is hitting .323 with one home run in 31 spring at-bats.

Camargo (back/oblique) may not be ready by Opening Day, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The Braves are reportedly optimistic but not certain that Camargo will be recovered from his sore back and oblique by Opening Day. When healthy, the 24-year-old is expected to be the team's primary third baseman. He hit .299 last year in 82 games, though that was aided by an unsustainable .364 BABIP, and he hit just four home runs.
