DeJong, who went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a win over the Phillies on Thursday, was deployed out of the two hole in the lineup for the first time this season, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.

DeJong, who's mired in a 1-for-26 slump over the last eight games, ceded his usual No. 3 role to Paul Goldschmidt. Manager Mike Shildt stated his primary goal with the move was to afford Goldschmidt a bump in RBI opportunities, implying that the arrangement might stick for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, DeJong's average has already dropped 36 points to .284 during his aforementioned funk, and it remains to be seen if a different spot in the order might help break him out of the doldrums.

Mondesi went 3-for-3 with a home run, a walk and another run scored in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Rangers.

Mondesi reached base four times and swatted a solo home run off reliever Jeffrey Springs in the seventh inning in yet another successful night at the plate. The 23-year-old has been a fantasy dream so far this season, accumulating six home runs, 42 RBI and 34 runs scored with a .287/.322/.489 line. Of course, those league-leading 18 stolen bases come in handy, too.

Gordon (wrist) took ground balls at second base Thursday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Gordon was moved to the 10-day injured list May 21 due to a right wrist bruise, though he's trending in the right direction and was cleared to resume baseball activities Thursday. He'll be eligible to come off the shelf beginning Friday, though he'll need longer than the 10-day minimum before being activated.

Crawford went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Marlins.

Crawford supplied the majority of the Giants' offense, doubling in the go-ahead runs in the eighth inning. Even with this effort, he has just 10 extra-base hits on the season and a .309 slugging percentage across 201 plate appearances. He'll have a chance to keep his performance at the plate going for the team's weekend series at hitter-friendly Camden Yards.

Marcano was placed on the 7-day injured list with a sprained left thumb, Emily Waldon of The Athletic reports.

Prior to suffering the injury, Marcano was hitting .304/.364/.386 with one homer, 17 RBI and four stolen bases in 43 games for Low-A Fort Wayne. It remains to be seen how long the injury will keep the 19-year-old sidelined.

Seager is not in the lineup Thursday against the Mets.

Seager will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular day off after starting the past 15 games, going 17-for-58 (.293) with four homers, a stolen base and a 6:7 BB:K during that stretch. In his place, Chris Taylor is starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff against lefty Jason Vargas.

Velazquez was sent to Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Velazquez appeared in just eight games during his most recent stint with the Rays, going 1-for-11 with a double and six strikeouts during those appearances. Christian Arroyo was recalled from Durham to take his place on the roster.

Turner went 3-for-6 with a triple, two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's rout of Atlanta.

That's now six hits and two steals in the last two games for Turner, who always seems to do well in Atlanta -- his career slash line between SunTrust Park and old Turner Field stands at .328/.376/.574 in 28 games with seven homers, 14 stolen bases 16 RBI and 27 runs. The shortstop is now slashing .288/.333/.466 on the year through 17 games, and Turner's a perfect 8-for-8 on steal attempts.

Adames went 1-for-5 with a game-winning RBI single and a walk in an extra-innings victory over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Adames' single to deep center with the bases loaded in the 11th won the game for the Rays and produced his first RBI over the last six games. Adames' .237 season average still has plenty of room for improvement, but he's been markedly better with the bat this month while raising that figure a total of 37 points since the calendar flipped to May.

Anderson went 1-for-3 with a double and was hit by a pitch in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Royals.

Anderson, who returned to the lineup after missing four games with a wrist injury, was hit with a changeup off the helmet on the second pitch he saw, prompting the ejection of Kansas City pitcher Glenn Sparkman. The ejection appears to be related to the recent history between the White Sox and Royals, who emptied their benches April 17 after a series of incidents involving Anderson. The shortstop later knocked in the game-winning run with an eighth-inning double.
