Turner (finger) will take some pregame swings to determine if he can play Saturday against the Dodgers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

There's been no further update on the condition of Turner's finger, which still had swelling Friday after he jammed it Wednesday afternoon. If Turner can't go, Humberto Arteaga may start at shortstop again. It's also possible that Alcides Escobar, whom the Nationals traded for Friday, could be called up to start.

Edman went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a walk, a stolen base and two runs in a win over the Rockies on Friday.

Edman's surge continued a day after he laced his third triple of the season, and he extended his hitting streak to four games in the process. The 26-year-old has a pair of multi-efforts during that span as well, helping lead to four RBI.

Adames went 3-for-3 with a home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Friday's win over the Pirates.

Adames was one of three Brewers that went deep against Pittsburgh starter JT Brubaker. The shortstop has been on a power tear of late with four homers over his last eight games. He also has hit safely in all but two games during that eight-game stretch while plating 11 runs, scoring eight of his own and posting a strong 8:6 BB:K to go along with a .379 average. It's safe to say this has been one of Adames' most productive stretches of the entire campaign.

Crawford went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Friday's 11-4 win over Arizona.

Crawford had his fourth three-hit effort this year and his second in nine games Friday night. The only time he didn't manage to reach base was his initial at-bat when he grounded out to second. The 34-year-old has maintained a solid slash line of .256/.339/.525 with 17 homers, 51 RBI, 45 runs scored, six stolen bases and 29:63 BB:K over 271 plate appearances. Crawford's spike in power has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy managers. He's currently well on pace to set a new career high in home runs this year and has a chance to end the season with a slugging percentage over .500 for the first time ever.

Crawford went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Rangers.

Crawford continued his torrid stretch at the plate with his second three-hit performance over the last three games. The 26-year-old has been incredible since the beginning of June, slashing .362/.415/.543 with three homers, 15 RBI, 20 runs scored, two steals and 12:21 BB:K over 21 games. He's on pace to set career highs in every single offensive category.

Turner (finger) is not in the lineup Friday versus the Dodgers, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Manager Dave Martinez indicated Thursday that Turner continues to deal with swelling in his finger, so it's not a major surprise to see him on the bench for the second straight contest. Humberto Arteaga was promoted from Double-A Harrisburg and will start at shortstop Friday for the Nationals.

Reyes was recalled from Triple-A Nashville prior to Friday's game against the Pirates.

Reyes was called up Monday but was sent down Wednesday after getting just one at-bat. He'll now return to the big club as Kolten Wong (calf) heads to the injured list. Reyes should serve in a utility role going forward.

Chang was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Chang has struggled at the plate this season, slashing an undesirable .176/.211/.287 with just two homers, so his demotion comes as no surprise. Franmil Reyes (oblique) was activated from the IL in a corresponding roster move.

Allen owns a .333/.389/.494 slash line with 13 extra-base hits and 25 RBI across 177 plate appearances for Double-A Midland, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Gallegos cites a text he received from an organizational source that noted Allen "is coming along like a freight train" and will be "better than advertised when he arrives." That's certainly lofty praise, but the 22-year-old has apparently earned it by producing his best professional season at the plate at his highest level of the minors yet. It's worth noting Allen also has six steals and an acceptable 18.6 percent strikeout rate with Midland thus far, while his glove work is considered among the very best of any prospect in baseball.

DeJong went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in a loss to the Rockies on Thursday.

The struggling shortstop enjoyed some rare success at the plate, churning out his first multi-hit effort since May 8, which also came against the Rockies. While a near one-month stay on the injured list accounts for some of that long gap, DeJong is going through what is easily the most difficult season of his career at the plate -- even factoring in Thursday's production, his season slash line sits at an abysmal .176/.275/.357 across 207 plate appearances.
