Turner went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in Friday's win over the Phillies.

The 23-year-old shortstop has stumbled out of the gate, going 2-for-18 through four games and failing to cross the plate despite the fact that he's been hitting leadoff for a team producing five runs a game. Turner has stolen two bases, though -- not bad for a guy who's only reached base twice -- so fantasy owners who bought into his preseason hype should be patient when it comes to getting a return on their investment.

Baez did not have to go through the concussion protocol for the injury he sustained in an outfield collision with Jason Heyward on Friday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago reports.

Baez was diagnosed with a left eye contusion and is optimistic he will be able to play Saturday against the Brewers. We'll see if the Cubs play it safe with him and give him an off day or use him off the bench, but after a collision that looked capable of producing a major head injury, it looks like Baez has escaped the worst.

It looked like much worse was possible after Baez took a scary blow to the head in the collision. Concussion symptoms can sometimes take more than 24 hours to make themselves apparent, so Baez may not be out of the woods yet, but the fact that nothing worse than a shiner has shown up in the immediate aftermath is a good sign. We'll continue to monitor his status, but for now, it's looking like Baez might be able to make a quick recovery.

Baez left Friday's game against the Brewers with a possible head injury after colliding with Jason Heyward in shallow center field, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Baez was able to walk off the field under his own power, but was seen shaking his head according to Gordon Wittenmeyer of the Chicago Sun-Times. Hopefully the Cubs are just playing it safe with Baez, but a concussion is a possibility given the collision and how shaky Baez looked in the aftermath. We'll keep an eye on his condition as the night goes on.

Owings is not in the lineup Friday against the Indians.

Owings is off to a good start this season, amassing five hits and three RBI through Arizona's first four games. He'll take the night off Friday though, with Nick Ahmed filling in for him at shortstop.

Diaz went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Cubs.

Diaz shook off an 0-for-4 outing Tuesday to post his second two-hit effort over the season's first three games. However, he lined out to right field to end the game with Kolten Wong on third base. The 26-year-old has yet to drive in any runs but has a pair doubles and two stolen bases to his credit.

Seager is not in the Dodgers' lineup Friday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Though he has played strongly early on, the Dodgers apparently want to rest Seager against a left-handed pitcher (Kyle Freeland) and manage his recent oblique injury. Enrique Hernandez is playing shortstop in his place. Expect Seager to return to the mix Saturday.

Seager reached base four times Thursday, going 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBI and his first steal of the season in a win over the Padres.

The star shortstop's concerning back injury during spring training seems like a distant memory after his strong start to the regular season (.313 with a homer and five RBI through four games). If Seager can build on his impressive rookie campaign, he should have no problem finishing the year as one of the game's top fantasy shortstops.

Rojas is batting second and playing third base in the Marlins' lineup Thursday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Rojas takes Derek Dietrich's place facing left-handed pitcher Gio Gonzalez. Rojas will remain the likely starter at the hot corner against southpaws as long as Martin Prado (hamstring) is on the DL.

Owings got on base four times in five plate appearances Wednesday, knocking a single and a double to go with two walks, two steals, an RBI and a run against the Giants.

He's opened the season in impressive fashion, going 5-for-14 in the first three games of this four-game set with San Francisco. Owings is a burner who looks like he's going to get chances to play consistently at a number of different positions again this year, and he hasn't cooled off after posting great stats in spring training. He's a must-own player in deeper formats because of that speed and position eligibility, but it may still be too soon to scoop Owings up in standard 12-team formats.
