  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

    Angels' David Fletcher: Scores twice

Fletcher went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's 10-3 win over the Twins.

Fletcher put together a solid night at the plate Friday. In addition to scoring the first run of the ballgame, Fletcher would come around to score again on Justin Upton's grand slam in the seventh inning. The 27-year-old Fletcher now has a five-game hit streak, raising his batting average from .194 to .237 in the process.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Scorching bat over last week

Wendle entered Saturday's game against the Yankees hitting .370 (10-for-27) with three doubles, three RBI and five runs over his previous seven contests.

The productive stretch includes a 3-for-5 night in the series-opening win over New York on Friday, Wendle's fourth multi-hit effort of the season. The recent surge is a notable improvement over a more muted start to the season that saw Wendle go 3-for-16 with five strikeouts over his first 16 plate appearances.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Starts at 3B on Friday

Diaz started at third base and went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Friday's 6-5 loss to Seattle.

Diaz should be a busy man while several teammates, including second baseman Jose Altuve and third baseman Alex Bregman, serve time on the COVID-19 protocols list. He filled in for Altuve on Wednesday, then for Bregman on Friday. The team is also without utility infielder Robel Garcia (COVID-19 protocols). Diaz should be in the lineup regularly for as long as the Astros are without their infield regulars.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Returns to form

Anderson went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Cleveland.

Anderson, who returned to the lineup after spending time on the injured list with a hamstring injury, greeted Cleveland's Aaron Civale with a first-pitch single. He came around to score on a two-out single by Yoan Moncada. Anderson is 5-for-20 with one home run and four runs scored through five games.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Doing more movement

Mondesi (oblique) has been doing more movement recently, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Mondesi had been resting for several weeks after he was placed on the 10-day injured list to begin the regular season due to a right oblique strain. Manager Mike Matheny said Thursday that Mondesi has been making some progress, but the speedy shortstop still doesn't have a timetable to make his season debut.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Rays' Willy Adames: Gets breather Thursday

Adames isn't starting Thursday's game against the Rangers, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Adames has gone hitless with three strikeouts in his last seven at-bats. Joey Wendle will start at shortstop Thursday while Mike Brosseau enters the lineup at third base.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Back in action

Anderson (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list as expected ahead of Thursday's game against Cleveland.

Anderson strained his left hamstring in just the fourth game of the season. The injury wasn't a particularly bad one, however, so he's returning to action after a minimum-length stay on the injured list. Nick Williams was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Records two doubles

Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with two doubles in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Twins.

Bogaerts has been seeing the ball well this season and has recorded hits in six of his last seven contests, posting four multi-hit outings during that stretch. The shortstop has yet to go deep this season, but he's hitting a robust .375 with a .894 OPS through his first 43 plate appearances.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Will be in Thursday's lineup

Anderson (hamstring) will be in Thursday's lineup against Cleveland, according to manager Tony La Russa, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

This confirms prior reports that Anderson was trending towards a Thursday activation. He was already running at full speed Tuesday and can be plugged into weekend fantasy lineups.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Clubs two homers, walks off Yanks

Bichette went 3-for-5 with two solo home runs and a stolen base during Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Yankees.

The 23-year-old went 0-for-2 with RISP in the series finale, but he launched his second homer of the afternoon to lead off the ninth inning and deliver a walk-off win for Toronto. Bichette extended his hit streak to 11 games Wednesday and is 16-for-45 with four home runs, four doubles, 11 runs, 10 RBI and two stolen bases during that stretch.
