  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Slated to return Monday

The Twins will activate Correa (oblique) from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the White Sox, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Correa will skip a rehab assignment and go ahead and rejoin the major-league roster instead following a two-plus-week absence with a right intercostal strain. Willi Castro has been operating as the Twins' everyday shortstop since Correa went down with the injury but will now re-enter the mix for starts at third base and also the outfield.

  • Leonardo Rivas 3B | SEA

Mariners' Leonardo Rivas: Triples in first big-league at-bat

Rivas went 1-for-2 with a triple and a run in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

The rookie, who was just called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, finally had a chance to pay off his eight-plus season of toiling in the minors in his first big-league plate appearance by ripping a three-bagger in the third inning. Julio Rodriguez subsequently plated Rivas with a single, and the latter also rounded out his successful debut by making several impressive defensive plays, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. Rivas' stay with the big-league club should have a good chance to last through J.P. Crawford's (oblique) stay on the injured list, at minimum.

  • Vaughn Grissom 1B | LAA

Red Sox's Vaughn Grissom: Strong finish on rehab

Grissom (hamstring) went 4-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored for Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.

The Red Sox are expected to wrap up Grissom's rehab assignment and activate him for Tuesday's series opener against the Giants. While with the WooSox, Grissom went 10-for-30 with five walks, two steals and three runs scored. Grissom is expected to start at second base, while newcomer Garrett Cooper could slide in at first to create a new right side of the infield.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Already feeling better

Crawford (oblique) was able to field some grounders and do light jogging in the outfield before Sunday's series finale against the Diamondbacks, MLB.com reports.

The activity is significant, considering Crawford was just diagnosed with a Grade 1 oblique strain Wednesday. Crawford is still expected to be sidelined for multiple weeks, but he noted he was feeling much better Sunday than a few days prior, when he'd found it painful to even cough or make general movements.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Connects for third homer

Pena went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Rockies.

Pena had a productive weekend series in Mexico City, racking up a total of four runs scored in a pair of games. He also chipped in his third home run of the campaign Sunday, his first long ball since April 3. Pena has remained a subpar power contributor, though he also has four stolen bases and is hitting .321 across 115 plate appearances early this season.

  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Swipes two more bases

Rocchio went 2-for-3 with two runs scored during Sunday's extra-inning loss to Atlanta.

Rocchio provided two of the Guardians' three runs, picking up his first multi-hit game since April 6 (a span of 16 games). The 23-year-old has stolen four bases this season and has scored 12 times in 90 plate appearances. However, Rocchio is still chasing his first big-league homer through 48 games and is slashing .215/.292/.304.

  • Jose Caballero SS | NYY

Rays' Jose Caballero: Out of Sunday's lineup

Caballero is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Caballero will head to the bench Sunday after he posted a .217/.250/.370 slash line and 26.5 percent strikeout rate while starting the previous 12 games. Amed Rosario will shift to shortstop and bat third.

  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

White Sox's Paul DeJong: Out of Sunday's lineup

DeJong is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus Tampa Bay.

DeJong started the previous six contests but will take a seat Sunday after he went 3-for-22 with 11 strikeouts during that stretch. Braden Shewmake will start at shortstop and bat ninth.

  • Tigers' Kevin McGonigle: Returns from IL

Single-A Lakeland reinstated McGonigle (hamstring) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

McGonigle missed about two weeks of action to begin the season while recovering from a left hamstring strain, but the injury hasn't inhibited him since he made his return less than a week ago. The infielder has gone 5-for-11 with two doubles, three walks, two runs, two RBI and three stolen bases in four games since returning to the lineup.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Not starting Sunday

Baez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Baez started the previous seven games but will sit Sunday after he posted a .641 OPS during that stretch. Zach McKinstry will step in at shortstop for the series finale versus Kansas City.
