White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Activated from 10-day IL
The White Sox activated Meidroth (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Friday.
Meidroth missed the minimum amount of time on the injured list with his bruised thumb. In a corresponding move, the White Sox designated Jacob Amaya for assignment. Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Contributes multiple ways in win
Arias went 0-for-1 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 9-4 win over Miami.
Arias contributed in various ways to Cleveland's win. He delivered one run on a groundout and drove in the game-winning tally on a sacrifice fly. The shortstop was later hit by a pitch, stole second base and scored the team's final run. Arias has maintained a tenuous grip on the starting shortstop job since returning from an ankle injury in late July, going 15-for-59 (.254) with three home runs, 14 RBI, two steals and six runs scored over 17 contests.

Conrad Cason SS | BOS
Red Sox's Conrad Cason: Undergoes Tommy John surgery
Cason underwent Tommy John surgery this week, Andrew Parker of Beyond the Monster reports.
Cason pitched in just one game in the rookie-level Florida Complex League back in May and had been sidelined ever since due to arm fatigue. The 19-year-old now faces a lengthy rehab that will likely keep him off the mound until the 2027 campaign. Cason was an eighth-round pick in the 2024 Draft and is a two-way prospect at shortstop and pitcher.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Cleared for rehab assignment
Wilson (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Wilson was cleared for full baseball activities earlier this week and is now ready to test things out in a game setting. The rookie shortstop has been shelved since late July with a fractured left forearm. Because Wilson has only been sidelined for a few weeks, his rehab assignment should be brief.

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Hits in cage
Meidroth (thumb) hit off a pitching machine prior to Tuesday's game against the Tigers, MLB.com reports.
Meidroth landed on the injured list Thursday but had been sidelined by the injury since early August. He is reportedly feeling better and has begun to ramp up his activity as a result. Meidroth is eligible to be activated Aug. 15, which looks to be a realistic possibility.
