Emerson went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Padres.

While Emerson was held hitless in his major-league debut, he did score Seattle's first run of the game after drawing a lead-off walk in the sixth inning. The 20-year-old Emerson was recalled from Triple-A to serve as the Mariners' primary third baseman in the absence of Brendan Donovan (groin), though he could also now see time at shortstop after J.P. Crawford (triceps) left Sunday's contest after he was hit by a pitch. Emerson appeared in 38 games at Triple-A Tacoma this season, where he slashed .255/.347/.469 with seven homers and 10 stolen bases.

Crawford suffered a right triceps contusion in Sunday night's 8-3 loss to the Padres, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Crawford sustained the injury when he was hit by a 91.6 mph fastball from San Diego's starter Lucas Giolito in the third frame. The shortstop remained in the contest for the following inning, but he was struggling to extend his arm due to inflammation, according to manager Dan Wilson. The Mariners are set to begin a three-game series at home against the White Sox on Monday, and Crawford's availability will likely hinge on if the inflammation has gone down.

Volpe went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI, two walks and a run scored in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Volpe gave Mets pitching fits throughout this weekend's Subway Series, drawing multiple walks in all three contests. The two hits and RBI were both the shortstop's first of the season through four games so far, and he's swiftly putting together a case for more action even once Jose Caballero (finger) comes back from the injured list. In any event, Volpe should remain the Yankees' everyday shortstop until Caballero is cleared to return.

Crawford exited Sunday night's game versus the Padres in the fifth inning after being hit by a pitch on his right arm earlier in the contest, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Crawford took a 91.6 mph fastball from Lucas Giolito off his right triceps in the bottom of the third inning, and he ultimately exited the contest before the top of the fifth frame. The fact that he was able to remain in the game for an additional inning after being hit is a positive sign, but more information on his status will likely come in the near future. Leo Rivas replaced Crawford at shortstop.

Henderson went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Nationals.

Henderson was a monster all afternoon, tallying his first four-hit effort of the campaign while also homering and stealing a base in the same game for the second time this season. It was a much-needed performance for the 24-year-old, who entered the contest just 10-for-60 with no home runs across 14 games in May. Perhaps this will help get him going, as he's slashing an underwhelming .214/.269/.423 with 10 long balls, 24 RBI, 24 runs scored and six stolen bases across 212 plate appearances so far in 2026.

Seager (back) is heading back to Arlington to see the Rangers' back specialist, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Seager won't be available for at least the team's first game in Colorado as the Rangers begin a three-game set against the Rockies on Monday. The 32-year-old underwent an MRI on Sunday, and the results are still pending. In his absence, Ezequiel Duran has made back-to-back starts at shortstop, and he'll likely hold down that spot if Seager is forced to miss additional action moving forward.

The Mariners called Emerson up from Triple-A Tacoma and will have him stsart at third base and bat ninth in Sunday's series finale versus the Padres, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Emerson was summoned for his MLB debut after the Mariners placed Brendan Donovan (groin) on the 10-day injured list Sunday. The 20-year-old Emerson posted a .255 average with seven home runs, 26 RBI, 26 runs scored and 10 stolen bases over 145 at-bats in 38 contests with Tacoma prior to his promotion. In Donovan's absence, Emerson is expected to operate as Seattle's primary third baseman.

Pena (hamstring/neck) rejoined the Astros on Sunday and will travel with the team for Monday's series opener in Minnesota, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Pena missed a couple games during his rehab assignment due to a neck issue, but he returned to action for Double-A San Antonio this weekend and now appears ready to rejoin the active roster. The 28-year-old shortstop could end up taking the roster spot of Jose Altuve, who will soon be placed on the injured list after being diagnosed with an oblique strain.

The Mariners are expected to call up Emerson from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The 20-year-old is Seattle's top prospect and is traveling to join the big club after being scratched from Tacoma's lineup Sunday. It'll be the first taste of the majors for Emerson after inking an eight-year, $95 million extension with the Mariners in late March. Brendan Donovan (undisclosed) is sitting out a second consecutive game Sunday after recently returning from a groin strain, which could mean that third base is Emerson's clearest path to playing time. It's not yet clear if Donovan will require a trip to the IL, however.

Seager (back), who is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, has been sent to undergo an MRI, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Seager is sitting Sunday for a third consecutive day due to back spasms, which have been considered minor but are apparently serious enough to send him for medical imaging. Ezequiel Duran is picking up a second straight start at shortstop Sunday and could get an extended look there if Seager misses additional time.
