Meidroth is day-to-day after exiting Monday's game versus the Twins with a right ankle sprain, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Meidroth initially remained in the game after tweaking his ankle, but he was eventually removed for a pinch runner in the eighth inning after reaching base on an error. The rookie infielder went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run before departing Monday's contest.

Williams is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners.

Williams had started each of the previous eight tilts upon his promotion from Triple-A Durham, but he'll get a breather during Monday's series opener as he navigates through a 1-for-13 stretch at the plate. One big potential road block to Williams' playing time was cleared when Ha-Seong Kim (back) was claimed off waivers by Atlanta, increasing his chances at keeping an everyday role at shortstop even if he goes through a rough stretch at the plate. It will be Tristan Gray subbing in for Williams at shortstop Monday.

Arias (hand) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Red Sox.

Arias will miss a third straight start due to the bruised right hand he suffered after being hit by a pitch Friday. Brayan Rocchio will shift over to shortstop and Daniel Schneemann will get the start at second base Monday.

Sweeney is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Sweeney will join fellow left-handed hitters Kerry Carpenter and Colt Keith on the bench for the series opener while the Mets send southpaw Sean Manaea to the bump. Though Sweeney started in both of the previous two contests and has been seeing semi-regular run at shortstop since being called up from Triple-A Toledo on Aug. 10, he's slashing just .205/.225/.359 over a stretch of 16 games. Sweeney could be at risk of a demotion or a move to a reserve role once outfielder Parker Meadows (quadriceps) is activated from the 10-day injured list, which could result in Zach McKinstry and Javier Baez seeing more playing time at shortstop.

Williams went 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Nationals.

Williams entered Sunday's game in a minor slump, going hitless in his last three starts while also striking out six times in 11 at-bats. He had a strong performance Sunday, however, drawing a bases-loaded walk before coming around to score in the second inning. Williams is hitting .250 with a home run, a stolen base, six RBI and five runs scored across his first eight big-league games.

Montgomery went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Yankees.

Montgomery returned from a side injury to start all three games of the White Sox's weekend series against the Yankees. He continues to be productive at the plate despite a high strikeout rate, as he popped his 15th home run across only 46 games Sunday. However, Montgomery also struck out at a 31.6 percent clip while hitting just .198 across 91 at-bats in August.

Smith went 2-for-2 with an RBI double and two runs scored during Sunday's 9-6 win over the Athletics.

Smith drew three walks in addition to his pair of hits Sunday, marking his second game with three walks this season. The 28-year-old hadn't logged multiple hits in 15 straight games, going 10-for-55 (.182) during that stretch. He's slashing .257/.337/.379 in 438 plate appearances during 2025.

Wilson went 3-for-5 with a two-RBI double and a run scored during Sunday's 9-6 loss to the Rangers.

Wilson notched his first three-hit game since June 7, a streak that spanned 42 games. The shortstop also logged multiple RBI for the third time in his last six games. Since returning from the injured list Aug. 22, Wilson is 11-for-33 (.333) with two homers, two doubles and a 1:1 BB:K.

Orioles manager Tony Mansolino said that Mateo (hamstring) won't be reinstated from the 60-day injured list Monday, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Mansolino noted that Mateo hasn't suffered a setback since beginning his rehab assignment at Triple-A Norfolk on Aug. 20, but the utility player looks like he'll need at least a couple more games in the minors to pick up at-bats before the Orioles are comfortable adding him back to the roster. Mateo has been on the shelf since June 10, initially because of an inflamed left elbow before he strained his left hamstring later that month during a rehab assignment.

Crawford went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over Cleveland.

It was the sixth multi-hit game of the month for Crawford, who also scored multiple runs for the second time in August. The 30-year-old shortstop had worked as Seattle's primary leadoff man from May through July, but he's since tumbled down the batting order and hit seventh or lower in 28 consecutive outings. Crawford is slashing an uninspiring .240/.305/.344 with two home runs, four doubles, seven RBI and two stolen bases over his last 106 plate appearances.
