The Brewers placed Koenig on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left elbow sprain.

The left-hander has been diagnosed with UCL damage but will attempt to rehab the injury, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He's expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks. Koenig has been a valuable piece out of the Milwaukee bullpen since 2024, posting a 2.62 ERA and 24.7 percent strikeout rate. His spot on the roster and in the bullpen will be filled by Shane Drohan, who was recalled from Triple-A Nashville.

Triple-A Durham placed Johnson on the 7-day injured list due to a lower-back strain, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.

He isn't officially listed on the IL, but Dykstra's reporting coincides with the fact Johnson hasn't made his season debut yet, so we can consider the latter out indefinitely. He is a controversial prospect -- as his minor-league results have been outstanding -- but he's a righty who leans almost exclusively on his fastball and slider, so there are some detractors who believe he fits best in the bullpen long term.

High-A Hudson Valley placed Cunningham on the 7-day injured list April 2 due to arm soreness, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.

Cunningham, the No. 53 overall pick in 2024, was excellent early last season before missing a couple months with a shoulder injury. He wasn't the same after returning and was also subpar in the Arizona Fall League (10.38 ERA in 13 innings), and the fact he is behind to start this season continues a worrying trend.

The Tigers activated Gipson-Long (oblique) from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Toledo, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Gipson-Long had made one rehab appearance with Single-A Lakeland, and the Tigers will keep him in the minors rather than return him to the active big-league roster. The righty made three starts and five relief appearances for Detroit in 2025, collecting a 7.18 ERA and 26:6 K:BB over 31.1 innings. Gipson-Long will join the rotation at Toledo.

The Red Sox optioned Uberstine to Triple-A Worcester on Monday.

Uberstine was unlikely to be available to pitch for another day or two after tossing 2.2 innings and 45 pitches in relief during Sunday's loss to the Padres, so the Red Sox will send him back to the minors to clear room on the active roster for right-hander Garrett Whitlock (personal), who was reinstated from the paternity list. Once he's back in Worcester, Uberstine will likely settle back into the rotation after making his MLB debut out of the bullpen.

Double-A Chesapeake placed Watts-Brown on the 7-day injured list April 2 with a shoulder injury, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

The 24-year-old righty came over from Toronto for Seranthony Dominguez at last year's trade deadline. Watts-Brown has a 3.62 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 96:38 K:BB in 87 innings at Double-A.

The Cubs placed Boyd on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left bicep strain, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Boyd didn't suffer the injury at any one time but was having trouble bouncing back in between starts. The left-hander expects his absence to be a brief one. It's another blow to a Cubs rotation that also recently lose Cade Horton (forearm) to an arm injury. Javier Assad will start Tuesday versus the Rays in Boyd's place.

The Orioles recalled Young from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Young will be the starting pitcher for Monday's game against the White Sox, filling in for the injured Zach Eflin (elbow). The right-hander really struggled in 12 starts for the Orioles in 2025, finishing with a 6.24 ERA and 47:22 K:BB over 57.2 innings. Young could earn an additional start this weekend against the Giants if he pitches well, though Dean Kremer is a likelier option to fill that slot.

Brubaker allowed one hit and one walk in one scoreless inning during Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Mets.

Brubaker gave up a single and issued a walk but was able to escape the ninth inning without surrendering a run, throwing 12 of his 19 pitches for strikes. Aside from a lackluster performance during Friday's loss to the Mets, the right-hander has had a respectable start to the season. He has allowed three runs, all of which came Friday, along with seven hits and four walks while striking out five across 6.2 innings in five outings.

Povich covered 5.2 innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Pirates, taking a no-decision while striking out two batters and allowing two earned runs on four hits and three walks.

With starter Chris Bassitt getting chased from the game after allowing six runs over two innings, Povich -- who had been called up from Triple-A Norfolk -- was tasked with mopping up in the series finale in Pittsburgh. The young lefty was able to eat some innings and spare the bullpen from overuse, but the extended relief appearance will take him out of the running to fill the open spot in the Baltimore rotation that was created by Zach Eflin's (elbow) recent move to the injured list. Albert Suarez could be the leading candidate to replace Eflin in Monday's game against the White Sox, either as a starter or primary pitcher out of the bullpen.
