  • Kade Anderson SP | SEA

Mariners' Kade Anderson: Making debut Saturday

The Mariners are expected to select Anderson's contract from Double-A Arkansas to start Saturday's game against the Cubs, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Widely viewed as one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball, Anderson has been incredible at Double-A this season, pitching to a ludicrous 1.06 ERA and 0.64 WHIP to go with a 135:13 K:BB across 93.1 innings. The 22-year-old's dominance will allow him to skip Triple-A entirely and head straight to the big leagues, further bolstering a Mariners rotation that's put up a 3.89 ERA this year. His first test in the big leagues will come against a Cubs offense that's logged a .772 OPS since the beginning of the month, but the young lefty is still worth rostering in virtually all fantasy formats.

  • Anthony Kay SP | CHW

White Sox's Anthony Kay: Posts quality start in loss

Kay (9-6) took the loss against Atlanta on Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six innings.

Kay departed after allowing a leadoff double in the seventh inning, throwing 62 of 94 pitches for strikes to earn his sixth quality start of the season. It continued a consistent second half for the southpaw, who's yielded three earned runs or fewer in each of his seven outings since the All-Star break. He'll take a 3.96 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 104:45 K:BB across 127.1 innings this year into a home matchup with the Rangers next week.

  • Grant Holmes SP | ATL

Braves' Grant Holmes: Rebounds in win

Holmes (8-5) earned the win against the White Sox on Thursday, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out three over six scoreless innings.

Holmes carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, throwing 55 of 94 pitches for strikes with a whopping 16 whiffs. The 30-year-old got hammered for six runs Saturday, but he's posted three scoreless quality starts in his other August outings. He'll carry a 3.64 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 100:54 K:BB across 123.2 innings this season into a home matchup with the Dodgers next week.

  • Landen Roupp SP | SF

Giants' Landen Roupp: Losing ways continue

Roupp (7-13) took the loss against the Guardians on Thursday, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out two.

Roupp coughed up three runs in the first inning but settled in from there, as Cleveland didn't score again until the sixth. Control remains a major issue for the right-hander, who has now walked at least three batters in five consecutive starts while posting a troubling 17:19 K:BB during that span (24.2 innings). Roupp, who has now taken a loss in five straight outings, will bring a 4.34 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 130:64 K:BB over 134.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the Reds.

  • Gavin Williams SP | CLE

Guardians' Gavin Williams: Continues racking up strikeouts

Williams (12-7) notched the win against the Giants on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out 11.

Williams dominated at times, touching 100 mph with his fastball while generating 18 whiffs, but San Francisco managed to get to him for a pair of runs in the fourth inning. The right-hander continues to be a strikeout artist, fanning double-digit hitters in six of his last eight outings. Williams, who is tied with Dylan Cease for the AL lead in punchouts, will take a 3.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 201:48 K:BB over 154.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the Angels in Anaheim.

  • Shane Bieber SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Dazzles in fifth win

Bieber (5-2) notched the win against Tampa Bay on Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and no walks in seven innings. He struck out seven.

Bieber authored arguably his finest performance of the season so far, spinning seven innings of one-run ball versus the first-place Rays. The right-hander matched a season high in innings and registered a season-best seven punchouts while throwing at least 5.2 frames in his fourth straight start. Bieber will try to further improve on a 4.53 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 44:24 K:BB over 55.2 innings in his next scheduled appearance, which is projected to be a favorable home draw versus the Royals.

  • Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Collapses in sixth inning

McGreevy took a no-decision against the Reds on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

The Reds erupted for five runs in the sixth inning, three of which went against McGreevy's ledger. The right-hander has struggled mightily lately, turning in a 5.83 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB over his last six starts (29.1 innings) to follow up a streak of four consecutive quality starts prior to that period. McGreevy will take a 3.54 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 95:36 K:BB across 137.1 innings this season into his next scheduled outing against the Orioles.

  • Brady Singer SP | CIN

Reds' Brady Singer: Continues to provide length

Singer took a no-decision against the Cardinals on Thursday, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out three.

Most of the damage against Singer came in the third inning, when Jordan Walker blasted a three-run home run. The 30-year-old right-hander hasn't been dominant lately, giving up at least three runs in six consecutive starts, but he's tossed at least six innings in seven of his last eight outings to supply steady length for the Reds. Singer is set to bring a 4.72 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 107:43 K:BB over 131.2 innings into a soft road matchup with the lowly Giants.

  • Shane Drohan SP | MIL

Brewers' Shane Drohan: Rejoining rotation Sunday

Drohan is slated to start Sunday's game against Atlanta in the MLB Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pa., Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Drohan had made 13 consecutive appearances as a starter before the Brewers made him available out of the bullpen Tuesday, when he struck out a batter and allowed one hit and two walks over two innings in a 22-0 win over the Mariners. The southpaw will slot back into Milwaukee's six-man rotation this week, but he appears to be the pitcher most at risk of losing his starting spot once the Brewers eventually condense the rotation to five as the postseason draws closer. Murphy acknowledged as much Sunday, telling McCalvy that the Brewers have discussed the possibility of shifting Drohan into a hybrid role in an effort to keep his innings in check. After missing most of the 2024 campaign while recovering from left shoulder nerve decompression surgery, Drohan covered 54 innings between two minor-league stops in the Red Sox organization in 2025. He's already up to 114 innings between Milwaukee and Triple-A Nashville this season.

  • Davis Martin SP | CHW

White Sox's Davis Martin: Rehab start coming soon

Martin (finger) threw a bullpen session Wednesday and is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon, James Fegan of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Martin was placed on the 15-day injured list last week with a blister on his right middle finger. Though he might only need one rehab start from a physical standpoint, Martin's struggles over the last several weeks could encourage the White Sox to keep him on his rehab assignment longer than that.
