Jones (elbow) underwent imaging, which came back negative, Sunday in Colorado.

Jones was struck in the right elbow by a line drive and exited Sunday's contest against the Rockies following the conclusion of the third inning. The team had the 24-year-old undergo initial imaging in Colorado, and at the moment, it appears as if he has avoided a significant injury. Jones is expected to be reexamined by the medical staff in Pittsburgh on Monday, and he can be considered day-to-day for the time being.

The Yankees optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Reds.

Rodriguez was called up to make a spot start Sunday, and he was handed his second loss of the season after tossing four innings and allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four. The 22-year-old will head back to the minors while the Yankees scale back to a five-man rotation during the upcoming week.

Burns (9-1) earned the win Sunday over the Yankees, allowing a run on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

Burns turned in another strong outing Sunday, with New York's lone run coming on Ben Rice's home run in the third inning. The 23-year-old Burns has now held opponents to two runs or fewer while going at least five innings in each of his last 12 starts -- he's gone 8-0 with a 2.05 ERA across 70.1 innings in that span. Burns' ERA is down to 2.00 through 15 starts (85.2 innings) this season with a 1.05 WHIP and 102:29 K:BB. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently lined up to come on the road against the Pirates next weekend.

McCullers (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

McCullers threw a 25-pitch live batting practice session Friday and has now been cleared for game action in the minors. The veteran right-hander has been on the shelf for a month due to shoulder inflammation and could back with the Astros after making a couple rehab starts, depending on how well he's able to build up his workload.

Jones was lifted from his start Sunday against the Rockies after being struck in the right elbow by an 87.9-mph line drive off the bat of TJ Rumfield, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The Pirates were able to record an inning-ending out on the play in question, resulting in Jones finishing his day with three strikeouts and one run allowed on one hit and two walks across three frames. Jones was making his fifth start of the season for Pittsburgh on Sunday after completing his recovery from May 2025 UCL repair surgery on his right elbow. While it's less than ideal that the same elbow was struck by a comebacker, Jones should be able to steer clear of an extended absence so long as he was able to avoid a fracture. He's currently being evaluated by the Pirates' medical staff, and the team should have an update on his status later Sunday.

Montgomery (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday with Double-A Frisco.

The left-hander has been working his way back from the hybrid UCL reconstruction surgery he underwent on his elbow in March 2025, and he's now entering the final stage of his rehab program. Montgomery will require a handful of rehab starts in the minor leagues before gaining full clearance, lining him up to potentially join the Rangers in late July or early August.

The Athletics transferred Severino (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

The right-hander landed on the injured list in late May due to a shoulder strain and was scheduled to be evaluated in 4-to-6 weeks, so he already seemed likely to spend more than 60 days on the shelf. Now three weeks into his recovery, Severino could be re-evaluated within the next week or two, at which point a target date for his return could begin to come into focus.

The Diamondbacks recalled Drake from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

After being added to the 40-man roster during the offseason, Drake is now on the cusp of making his major-league debut. The left-hander has been working as a starter at Reno but has struggled to a 7.83 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 48:26 K:BB across 54 innings this year.

The Rays reinstated Grove (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Durham on Sunday.

Tampa Bay will give Grove some more time in the minors to round into form following March 2025 surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. The 29-year-old had looked good over the course of his eight rehab appearances between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Durham, compiling a 2.84 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB across 12.2 innings.

The Diamondbacks selected Cabrera's contract from Triple-A Reno to start Sunday's game versus the Twins.

It will be the big-league debut for the 24-year-old righty, who has pitched well between the Double-A and Triple-A levels this year with a 3.69 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 64:16 K:BB over 61 innings. Recent injuries sustained by Michael Soroka (lower body) and Ryne Nelson (elbow) could provide an opening for Cabrera to get an extended look in the rotation, especially if he acquits himself well in his MLB debut.
