Senga (shoulder/triceps) threw another bullpen session Wednesday, and manager Carlos Mendoza said afterward that the right-hander's next step could be facing hitters in live batting practice, Julian Guilarte of SI.com reports.

The Mets will likely re-evaluate Senga on Thursday and Friday, but if he feels fine physically coming out of his latest bullpen session, expect him to gain clearance to face hitters. Senga has been on the injured list all season, first because of a right posterior shoulder capsule strain before he experienced right triceps inflammation in late May.

Gray (elbow) will make another rehab start for Triple-A Rochester next week, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Gray was able to build up to 79 pitches over five innings during his latest rehab outing Wednesday, and the goal will be for him to get up to six innings or roughly 90 pitches. It's likely he makes his next minor-league start Tuesday, which could put him in line to return to Washington's rotation June 30 against the Rays.

Gibson (back) is likely to make his next scheduled start Tuesday against Atlanta, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Gibson was a late scratch from Wednesday's start in Miami due to back tightness. He will play catch Thursday to determine whether he could be available in relief for that game, but that's viewed as unlikely. Instead of just pushing his next start back a couple days, the Cardinals seem content to effectively skip his turn and have him ready to go Tuesday.

The Mariners signed Kaminsky to a minor-league contract Monday.

Kaminsky spent last season in the Mariners organization, posting a 7.52 ERA and 18:8 K:BB over 20.1 innings during his time at Triple-A Tacoma. He'll return to Tacoma and provide Seattle some left-handed relief depth at its top affiliate.

The Cardinals recalled Kloffenstein from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.

After putting up a 3.97 ERA and 1.13 WHP through 77 innings at Triple-A, Kloffenstein will now come up from the minors to give St. Louis another multi-inning relief option in its bullpen. He'll take the place of Chris Roycroft, who was optioned to Memphis in a corresponding move.

Rockies manager Bud Black said Thursday that Freeland (elbow) will return from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday versus the Nationals, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Freeland allowed two earned runs while striking out four over four innings in his third and final rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Albuquerque. The left-hander threw 67 pitches in the outing, so he probably won't be ready for a full workload Sunday. Most fantasy managers shouldn't be using Freeland, anyway. He posted a 13.21 ERA in four starts before going on the injured list in mid-April with a left elbow strain.

Gray (elbow) struck out five over five innings while allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks in his rehab start Wednesday with Double-A Harrisburg.

After building up to 79 pitches in what was the third start of his rehab assignment, Gray looks to be on the cusp of making his return from the 15-day injured list. According to Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com, Gray reported back to Washington on Thursday and said he felt good following his latest rehab start, but the Nationals haven't yet decided whether he'll remain on assignment or rejoin the big-league rotation. If Washington chooses to activate Gray along with keeping a five-man rotation intact, the struggling Patrick Corbin could be sent to the bullpen to make room for the right-hander. Gray could be an option to start for the Nationals as soon as Monday in San Diego.

The Marlins list Luzardo (back) as their probable pitcher for Saturday's game against the Mariners, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Luzardo pitched with some back stiffness in his last outing in Sunday's loss to the Nationals, getting pulled after five innings and 77 pitches while displaying decreased velocity. He's evidently bounced back fine, though, and appears good to go this weekend for a matchup against Seattle at home.

Gibson said Thursday that he feels fine after being scratched from a scheduled start Wednesday in Miami due to back tightness, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The pitcher even said he's hoping to pitch in relief Thursday against the Giants, although that seems unlikely. It's not clear when Gibson might make his next start, but it sounds like a stint on the injured list can safely be ruled out.

Corniell will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the UCL in his right elbow, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Corniell has been sidelined all season with an elbow issue. While his injury was initially referred to as inflammation when he went on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Frisco back in early April, subsequent testing revealed a more serious concern. It's not yet clear whether Corniell will have a full Tommy John surgery or internal brace procedure, but in either case he won't pitch again in 2024 and is likely to miss at least a large chunk, if not all, of the 2025 season.
