Kolek (4-2) took the loss Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing nine runs on nine hits and one walk over 1.2 innings.

Kolek entered the day in excellent form, having allowed two runs or fewer in five of his previous six starts, but he was unable to escape the Cardinals' relentless offense Sunday. The right-hander was tagged for three home runs in his short outing, including two by rookie JJ Wetherholt, and was chased before completing the second inning. The nine runs allowed were a career high and caused his ERA to balloon by more than a full run. Kolek now owns a 4.15 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB across 52 innings. He will seek to get back on the right track against the White Sox on the road in his next scheduled start.

May did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Royals, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two over two innings.

May endured his shortest outing of the season Sunday, tossing 44 pitches to complete two innings before being lifted. The right-hander allowed two runs in the first inning and further unraveled in the second, serving up a pair of two-run homers to Nick Loftin and Jac Caglianone. Despite the early damage, May surprisingly exited with the lead thanks to St. Louis erupting for nine runs over the first two innings. The outing was a stark contrast from his recent form, as he entered Sunday coming off back-to-back scoreless starts, including a one-hit shutout in his previous appearance. May will take a 4.30 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 77:22 K:BB to face Miami at home in his next scheduled start.

Wheeler (7-1) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over 5.2 innings against the Mets. He struck out seven.

Wheeler fell one out shy of a quality start as his control wavered in the sixth inning, but the right-hander still turned in a strong enough outing to earn his seventh win. The 36-year-old has looked great in June, posting a 1.82 ERA and 0.93 WHIP while going 3-0 across four starts spanning 24.2 innings this month. Wheeler will take a 2.11 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 69:18 K:BB through 68.1 innings (11 starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Friday in a rematch with the Mets.

Sheehan (3-5) took the loss Sunday, allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks over 3.1 innings against Baltimore. He struck out four.

Sheehan was knocked around early and often, allowing runs in each of his first three innings before being lifted with one out in the fourth frame and two runners on base, both of whom came around to score. Home runs have been a serious issue for the 26-year-old, as Sunday's long balls by Taylor Ward (second inning) and Colton Cowser (third inning) marked the fifth time this season that Sheehan has surrendered multiple homers. After posting a 2.82 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 13 regular-season starts spanning 73.1 innings in 2025, the right-hander has struggled to a 5.32 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through 67.2 innings (14 starts) in 2026. His next start is lined up for next Sunday against San Diego.

Young (6-2) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over five innings against the Dodgers. He struck out five.

Young navigated the vaunted Dodgers offense, allowing a run in the first inning before working the next four frames scoreless. Through four starts in June, the right-hander has posted a 3-1 record with a 2.59 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB across 24.1 innings. The 27-year-old has been a pleasant surprise in 2026, compiling a 3.07 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 49:25 K:BB across 67.1 innings (12 starts). Young's next start is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Nationals.

Tolle (3-5) took the loss Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over six innings against the Mariners. He struck out two.

Tolle churned out a quality start, but he recorded a season-low two strikeouts while taking the loss. After surrendering just three homers through his first nine outings, the southpaw has now allowed three long balls across his past two starts, with Dominic Canzone taking him deep in the second inning Sunday. Tolle will take a 3.08 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 62:18 K:BB across 64.1 innings (11 starts) into his next appearance, tentatively scheduled for Friday against the Yankees.

Gilbert (6-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over 6.1 innings against the Red Sox. He struck out eight.

Gilbert was in control throughout the outing, with his lone blemish coming on a Nate Eaton solo homer in the third inning. The big right-hander has punched out at least eight batters in three of his past four starts and reached the 100-strikeout mark in Sunday's win. Gilbert will take a 3.29 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 93 innings (16 starts) into his next outing, which is lined up for next weekend against the Guardians.

Zazueta was promoted to Double-A Tulsa on Sunday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.

Zazueta will move up a level in the Dodgers' minor-league farm system after producing a 3.88 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 66 punchouts over 48.2 innings in 11 appearances, including 10 starts, with High-A Great Lakes so far this season. The 21-year-old will look to continue his early-season success against some tougher competition at the Double-A level.

Cabrera (hand) is listed as the Cubs' probable starting pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Mets at Citi Field.

Cabrera's inclusion on the Cubs' pitching schedule for their four-game series in New York indicates that he made it through his bullpen session over the weekend without issue. The 28-year-old was lifted in the fifth inning of his latest start Tuesday versus the Rockies due to right hand cramping, but he was able to make a swift recovery.

Boyd (shoulder/knee) struck out seven and allowed two hits and no walks over four scoreless innings Saturday in a rehab start with High-A South Bend

Boyd covered 59 pitches (40 strikes) in the appearance, his first in the minors in two weeks after he experienced renewed soreness in his left shoulder coming out of a June 6 start with Triple-A Iowa. The southpaw was initially placed on the 15-day injured list May 6 after requiring a meniscectomy for his left knee, but he's since healed up from that procedure and appears to be bouncing back well from the minor setback with his shoulder. Per MLB.com, Boyd will rejoin the Cubs and will throw a bullpen session in New York on Monday, and if all goes well, he could be reinstated from the IL to make his next start with the big club Thursday against the Mets or during its weekend series in Milwaukee.
