Frankie Montas SP | NYM
Mets' Frankie Montas: Undergoing Tommy John surgery
Montas will undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Tuesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
A full UCL repair had been considered likely, and now it's official. The operation will likely sideline Montas until the 2027 campaign. Montas proved to be a disastrous investment for the Mets, posting a 6.28 ERA in seven starts and two relief appearances, and he will now undoubtedly exercise a $17 million player option for 2026.

Dustin May SP | BOS
Red Sox's Dustin May: Heading to 15-day injured list
The Red Sox will place May on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
May had been scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Athletics, but the Red Sox will now call up Connelly Early from Triple-A Worcester to take the hill instead. Though the nature of May's injury isn't known, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com relays that it's not considered serious, so the right-hander could have a shot to return later this month. May has been inconsistent during his time in Boston, posting a 5.40 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 26:13 K:BB over 28.1 innings.

The Red Sox will call up Early from Triple-A Worcester to start Tuesday's game versus the Athletics in Sacramento, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Early has collected a 2.60 ERA and 132:40 K:BB over 100.1 innings between Double-A Portland and Worcester this season. The left-hander is more of a high-floor than a high-ceiling prospect, and he will be making his MLB debut in a tough environment for pitchers, making him a risky streaming option in fantasy.

Doyle was promoted from Single-A Palm Beach to Double-A Springfield on Tuesday.
Doyle made his professional debut with Palm Beach this past weekend, allowing one run while striking out three over 1.2 frames. Miles Mikolas SP | STL
Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Fades in no-decision
Mikolas did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over five-plus innings against Seattle. He struck out two.
The veteran starter held Seattle scoreless through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth frame, allowing two baserunners without recording an out before Gordon Graceffo came on and let both inherited runners -- plus two more -- cross the plate. While the season has been underwhelming overall for Mikolas, he's pieced together a solid stretch lately, logging a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 16 innings across his three most recent starts.

Bryan Woo SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryan Woo: Earns 13th win
Woo (13-7) earned the win Monday, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks over six innings in a 4-2 victory over St. Louis. He struck out nine.
Woo delivered six strong innings Monday, halting a brief two-start stretch of shorter outings after previously going six-plus in each of his first 25 starts. The right-hander has been one of MLB's most reliable arms this season, compiling a 3.02 ERA and 0.95 WHIP across 175.2 innings in 28 starts. While not overpowering with strikeouts (9.1 K/9), his nine punchouts Monday tied a season high, and his elite command (1.7 BB/9) continues to fuel his consistency.

Nick Lodolo SP | CIN
Reds' Nick Lodolo: Tosses five shutout frames
Lodolo did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing two hits and a walk over five scoreless innings against the Padres. He struck out two.
Lodolo returned from an illness that sidelined him for a start and turned in a sharp five-inning performance, though the Reds' bullpen gave away the lead and left him with a no-decision. The left-hander has quietly been excellent this season, posting a 3.10 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 139.1 innings in 25 starts.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Padres' Yu Darvish: Battles in no-decision
Darvish did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks over 5.2 innings against the Reds. He struck out seven.
Darvish surrendered a leadoff homer to TJ Friedl but settled in to grind out 5.2 serviceable innings, keeping the Padres in a game they ultimately won in 10 innings. It's been a challenging season for the veteran right-hander, who didn't debut until July 7 due to an elbow injury. Through 12 starts, he owns a 5.65 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 57.1 innings as San Diego hopes he can find his form heading into the postseason.

Chase Dollander SP | COL
Rockies' Chase Dollander: Sharp in no-decision
Dollander allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Monday.
Dollander did his part, but the Rockies got no-hit for the first eight innings of the game. Despite this positive step forward, he still has a 6.52 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 82:49 K:BB through 98 innings over 21 starts this season. The rookie right-hander's next start is projected to be in San Diego this weekend.
